Greetings from Tyrol's high plateau
For a long time, the sporting major events determined the rhythm and the name of the Seefeld region. Three times, in 1964, 1976, and 2012, the Olympic Winter Games took place on Tyrol's high plateau, making the region an Olympic region. In 2022, it was time for a new name – the region became known as Seefeld - Tyrol's high plateau, because the area, with its five villages Seefeld, Leutasch, Mösern, Reith, and Scharnitz, has so much more to offer. Winter sports and international hospitality still belong to its identity, but it cannot be reduced to just that. Summer, relaxation, and enjoyment are also among its strengths. It also does not fit into the typical Tyrolean categories of mountain and summit worlds or lovely valley landscapes. The Seefeld region lies in a unique intermediate world: on a vast high plateau gently framed by impressive mountains and 1,200 meters above sea level and the Tyrolean valleys.

In the Seefeld region, the landscape opens up from the Zugspitze and the Wetterstein mountains down south, providing space for natural diversity, many hours of sunshine, and true joy of life. Location: Region Seefeld - Tirol's high plateau at 1,200 meters, northwest of Innsbruck, includes the municipalities of Seefeld, Leutasch, Mösern, Reith, and Scharnitz. Approximately 8,000 inhabitants and around 14,000 guest beds are spread over about 320 km².
Situation: About 600 meters above the Inn Valley, on a high plateau open to the south - surrounded by the Karwendel Nature Park, the Wildmoos Landscape Protection Area, and the Wetterstein Mountains.
Access: Good access options not only by car! There are regular connections from Munich directly to Seefeld, and also from Vienna and Zurich it is possible to travel via Railjet to Innsbruck and then with only one transfer by the Karwendelbahn to the high plateau. Innsbruck airport is only 20 km from the region and is accessible by public transport or taxi. Munich airport is 138 km away; there is also a train connection here.
