Achieved a lot and even more to come
Reflection & Future
One could almost say that a new era in TVB Seefeld began ten years ago. Almost simultaneously, managing director Elias Walser and marketing manager Lisa Krenkel started their journey in the region.
Since then, the two together with the senior destination & product manager Joachim Pölzl and their entire team have accomplished a lot. Thanks to many long-time employees and the support of a stable board and supervisory board for many years, major projects such as the Nordic Ski World Championships 2019 have been successfully completed and difficult times like the Corona pandemic have been well managed.
Highlights at All Levels
The highlights of the past ten years are much more diverse than these two significant events and encompass many levels. Internally, the establishment of a new marketing and communications department began in 2018. In 2022, the name change from Olympiaregion to Tirol's High Plateau followed. From 2022 to 2024, a new strategy based on the strengths of the region was developed together with Prof. Hubert Siller.
Externally, the information offices, construction yards, and office units were renovated and partly newly built. The provisional end was marked by the move of the TVB headquarters from Seefeld to Leutasch in 2021.
Large investments
Especially important were the large investments in tourist infrastructure: This included, among others, the flagship projects Naturpark Infozentrum Scharnitz, Loipenzentrum Leutasch, the new location of the Peace Bell, and the viewing platform at Brunschkopf. The sustainability sector was established, and Seefeld was the first tourism destination to receive the Austrian Environment Seal, with the new bus system successfully implemented. Since December 2025, we have been operating Arena365, combining a training center and tourism highlight in new ways.
In these days, Lisa Krenkel goes on maternity leave and passes her duties to Katharina Emslander. The resident of Saalfelden brings a wealth of experience from her time as Marketing Manager and Authorized Signatory at Saalfelden Leogang Touristik GmbH and looks forward to actively shaping the future of the region as a year-round tourism destination.

KATHARINA EMSLANDER
Kathi loved nature and mountains since she was a child. She studied at the University of Innsbruck and began her professional life in tourism management in Saalfelden Leogang. For ten years, she developed the region as Marketing Manager and Theme Manager for Biking, turning it into one of Austria's leading year-round destinations. Her love led her to Tyrol's high plateau, specifically to Mittenwald. She enjoys spending time with her family in the Seefeld region; hiking, biking, or cross-country skiing.
For a year and a half now, Kathi has been part of our team and is co-responsible for our new focus project Bike as well as the reorientation of Arena365. As Marketing Manager, she aims to successfully position the region in the market while integrating the continuous changes in the field of digitalization as well as new societal and tourism trends. Her strengths include solution-oriented thinking, teamwork, and her strong personal passion for our focal topics cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, as well as culinary and family themes.
