The winter season 2024/25 in numbers
The winter season has been overwhelmingly positive. Although we had little precipitation overall, the cold temperatures kept the thin layer of snow stable for a long time. This gave us a great snow season that lasted until March, after two winters with little snow and lots of rain.
Particularly positive were the increases in overnight stays in December (+6.6%), in January (+5.6%), and in March (+10.7%); outstanding in April with an increase of over 50%. This was due to more establishments being open in April than usual this year. Throughout the entire season, we recorded 951,354 overnight stays and 240,347 arrivals. This represents an increase of 8.1% in arrivals and 5.9% in overnight stays. The average length of stay remained stable at 4 days.

Percentage increases top in comparison to Tyrol
In the overall comparison of overnight stays across Tyrol, we rank as the ninth among the ten strongest tourism associations. This positioning is certainly highly valuable, as we compete with some very large and financially strong TVBs, such as those in the Ötz and Zillertal valleys or the Innsbruck city region. Among the top 30, we recorded the second highest percentage increase in comparison to winter 23/24, after Innsbruck. Tirol's high plateau also stands on the winner's podium for arrivals; this time even at the very top. Compared to the previous winter, we achieved the largest percentage increase of the top 30 tourism regions in Tyrol.
Snow reliability is crucial
The topic of snow reliability is becoming increasingly crucial for the success of a region in winter tourism. Of the ten best regions in Tyrol, eight are in close proximity to a large, snow-reliable, and financially strong ski area. The following areas also offer large cable cars and snow reliability. Aside from the city of Innsbruck, only the Seefeld region is an exception: One searches in vain for a large, financially strong ski area like Sölden or Ischgl among us. However, our success is certainly due to our relative snow reliability as well as our focus offerings on cross-country skiing and winter hiking. A significant contribution to this also comes from our other, very diverse offerings, which include three small but charming ski areas for families.

Region in the Plus
Our forecast for revenue per bed for the year 2024 is € 14,948.00, which is an increase of over € 800.00 compared to the previous year. This places us among the Top Ten in the Tirol comparison.
In the regional comparison, the increase in arrivals and overnight stays is distributed across all accommodation categories. Notably, the highest increases are seen in basic accommodations: Private rooms on farms have an increase of 21.5%, while campsites show an impressive 130.5% increase.
In the comparison between locations, all figures also show a positive trend. The largest increases are recorded in Reith (18.9% in arrivals and 12.8% in overnight stays) and Scharnitz (15.8% arrivals and 8.3% overnight stays).
In terms of origin countries, there are few changes. The German market slightly expands its share with 53.29% arrivals and 58.69% overnight stays. Switzerland, in second place, shows a minimal decline to 9.1% arrivals and 8.8% overnight stays. Third place in arrivals still goes to the home market Austria with 8%, while in overnight stays, the Dutch guests have surpassed the local guests by one percentage point, standing at 6.4%.
