This tour starts in Leutasch Weidach (P15) and leads over 170 kilometers once around the [TM1] Karwendel. It first goes slightly downhill through the Leutaschtal and across the German-Austrian border above the Leutaschklamm down to Mittenwald. From there you reach the village of Krün via the Schmalensee and the Buckelwiesen. In the following village of Wallgau, after a short climb, the road branches off to the right towards Vorderriß. Here the Isar still takes its natural course – a scenic delight to discover the wild course of the river! Once[TM2] you have arrived at the Sylvensteinspeichersee, you will reach an intersection shortly after. Turn left towards Achenkirch. Follow the main road until Achenkirch, then continue
Tip
- If you want to avoid the Telfer Berg at the end of this scenic but strenuous tour during your planning, you can also ride the route in the opposite direction. Alternatively, you can board the train from Wiesing to Innsbruck [TM1] and thus tackle the elevation gain to Seefeld – breathtaking views of the Inntal and the side valleys are guaranteed on this train ride!
