Service directly on the trail – for your perfect cross-country skiing day

Trail service & trail rescue in the Seefeld region

The team of the trail service is aware of its important task. Each employee has been intensively prepared for the upcoming activities. In addition to necessary first aid training to act as a first responder in case of emergency, training in psychological areas and in leadership is also included.

The team has set itself the goal of providing comprehensive service on the trails to all guests and locals. At least four staff members are continuously present on site during opening hours. Through ongoing position changes, as many cross-country skiers as possible have a contact person available.

Ticket control

The use of the trails in the region is only permitted with a valid ticket. The different types of tickets are checked daily by staff from the trail service. The checks take place at various fixed positions as well as "on the go".

Trail signage

Together with all those responsible for the trail operation, the team also takes care of the signage. Along the approximately 245 kilometers of freshly groomed trails, regularly spaced ÖNORM-compliant information boards are installed.
They display the trail name, number, distance, the alpine emergency call number, and the difficulty levels blue, red, and black.

Securing hazardous locations

For maximum safety, potential danger spots are secured during special control drives. Particularly on routes with steeper descents, additional warning signs, safety nets, or impact mats are used.

Provision of information

Information about the exact course of the trails, the next track sections, or current closures is particularly important. The staff also provide information about the nearest refreshment opportunities, carry maps and checklists, and know where the nearest advance sale outlets are located or which events are planned on the trails.

Trail Rescue
Alpine Emergency Call: 140
EU Emergency Call: 112 (without area code, also from mobile phones)

The modern form of trail rescue originated from an initiative by the Cross Country Academy ski school in Seefeld. Based on the experiences gained there, a professional trail rescue concept was developed in 2017 under the leadership of the tourism association, which is now fully implemented on all trails in the region.
