Shaping the future

TVB collaborates with Seefeld Middle School

The future lies in our hands, but also, and above all, in those of the next generation. This is reason enough to incorporate them early on into plans, visions, and potential developments. From this perspective, the TVB has been cooperating with the Seefeld Middle School since the 2025/26 school year. The fourth-grade students gain detailed insights into the work and tasks of the tourism association and get to know it as a potential future employer during an open house day. The student parliament is part of the Team Plateau and can thus directly contribute the ideas of young people to shaping the future of their home.

The first step of the cooperation was taken in March 2025 with the first Open Day for the fourth grades. Around 20 students spent an exciting day at Arena365, which they got to know better through four stations. The highlights were a trip to the ski jump, a tour of the Technical Center of the TVB, biathlon taster sessions, and a ride with the grooming snowcat. The tourist association also positioned itself as an attractive employer in the region.

In autumn 2025, the next step followed: Managing Director Elias Walser and sustainability coordinator Michaela Kraler presented the importance of tourism for the Tyrolean high plateau, the TVB, and the sustainability strategy at the teacher conference in early November. Together, they decided to strengthen the cooperation between TVB and the Seefeld Secondary School.

The Student Parliament has been actively involved as part of the Team Plateau and is meant to gather and represent the ideas of the "next generation". Michaela Kraler held separate classes in each of the three fourth-grade classes in March. In these classes, she worked with the students to explore the importance of tourism for our region using numbers, data, and facts. Additionally, she presented the tasks of the TVB as well as central sustainability themes. The students were able to contribute actively both digitally and analogously. Afterwards, the fourth graders came back to the Open House Day at Arena365 to experience the sports infrastructure and the activities of the TVB live.

As a conclusion, a Design Jam is now planned together with Team Plateau in which the students will present their vision for the future of the region. This will be developed based on an imaginary journey to the year 2050. It will be exciting to see how the 13- to 14-year-olds envision our region in 20 to 25 years.
