The Rauthhütte, built in 1928, is enthroned at the foot of the Hohe Munde at 1605 m and offers a fantastic panorama of the open Leutasch valley. If you walk a few steps further, you will come to the Zugspitzblick vantage point from where you can see far across the Wettersteingebirge mountains to the Zugspitze. The sun terrace is popular with hikers in summer and is especially popular with ski tourers, tobogganers and snowshoe hikers in winter. It is not unusual to see hang-gliders taking off from the nearby ramp. When it gets colder, 2 parlours invite you to enjoy the excellent cuisine. Awarded by Gault Millau, the alpine inn offers all kinds of temptations. Especially recommended are the dumpling variations and the homemade cakes. Children feel particularly at home in the family-friendly hut. If there is still energy left after the ascent, you can romp around in the children's playground. The Rauthhütte can be reached either on foot or by (e-)bike, charging possibility is available, but you must bring your own charger.
OVERNIGHT STAY
The Rauthhütte offers 7 rooms with a total of 20 beds and a mattress dormitory for about 60 people. From Sunday to Tuesday there is no overnight stay possible, neither in winter. Dogs on request.
STARTING POINT
From the Mundestadl car park in Leutasch, which is subject to charges, you can either take the old lift track or choose the toboggan run or forest path. Alternatively, you can use the car park at Buchener Höhe and then take the path to the hut. It is also possible to arrive by bus (bus stop Moos or Buchener Höhe).
