The Weidachsee is mentioned in the famous fishing book of Emperor Maximilian from 1500 as the "soul in the Leutasch". The fishing rights on Weidachsee and Leutascher Ache are now owned by Dr. Thomas Angerer. He runs a quality fish farm recognised by the Chamber of Agriculture and specialises in the production of stocking and edible trout. Brook trout, rainbow trout and brook trout are bred.
The 4.5-hectare Weidachsee is a dream location where you can fish from April to October (from 7:00am - 7:00pm) without having to book in advance. The lake is ideal for fly-fishing as it is fished from a 400 m long wooden jetty.
Please note that this is not a bathing lake!
