Nice to have you here! On the next two kilometers, we will encounter countless wild and honey bees, beneficial insects, and plants in their natural habitat. The various organisms were selected and presented in collaboration with the Karwendel Nature Park, the University of Innsbruck, and the Seefeld Beekeepers Association – with patience and a keen eye, they can all be found here! But be careful: you are in their natural home – so please behave politely and respectfully and be good guests!

The educational trail runs along the Karwendelbahn from Reith to Seefeld. There, around the Wildsee, you will find the themed trail Climate Educational Trail Reither Moor – where you can follow the dragonfly Calyx further through nature. And those who take the Karwendelbahn to Scharnitz will find a large wild bee hotel at the nature park information center, the interactive Museum Holzerhütte, and the gateway to the largest nature park in Austria!
Exploring Bee Diversity
How many bee species are there actually?
When we talk about bees, we usually mean the honeybee (Apis mellifera – the European honeybee). But in Austria alone, there are approximately 700 other different species of wild bees.
Caution Shared Trail
On the Reither Bee Trail, besides countless animals and insects, there are sometimes also people riding mountain bikes – always be aware of each other!

(V)Receiving Rules
Proper behavior in nature is the foundation for the preservation of sensitive habitats and their biodiversity (variety). Together, we adhere to ten really simple rules:
- We take our waste back with us.
- We only stay on marked paths.
- We behave quietly and do not enter wildlife refuge zones.
- We meet animals with respectful distance and respect their rest periods around dusk and at night.
- We do not pick plants.
- We travel by public transport.
- We comply with designated driving prohibitions and parking regulations.
- We always keep dogs on a leash.
- We only use designated camping sites and refrain from open fires.
- We support local businesses.
