The Zugspitz Ultratrail, originally scheduled for June 17-19, 2022, will be postponed to July 15-17, 2022. The reason is the G 7 Summit in Schloss Elmau near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, scheduled at short notice by the new German government for the end of June. The already registered over 3200 participants* were informed about the postponement. Nothing else will change in the routes and the program. The Zugspitz Ultratrail is considered the biggest trail running event in Germany with an expected 4000 participants* and around 25 exhibitors.
More than 2,000 trail runners from 50 countries make the pilgrimage for this extreme run round the highest German mountain. The athletes conquer a total of up to 5,412 metres in altitude and a maximum distance of 101.6 km. There are five different routes to choose from, among them the ‘Supertrail’ (62.8 km, 2,923 metres in altitude) with its start in Leutasch. This challenging route winds its way through the notoriously beautiful scenery of the Leutasch Wetterstein mountain range.
