Römerstraße 16, 6103 Reith bei Seefeld
Klammen & Schluchten
The landscape of the Schlossbachklamm is typical of a gorge, with lots of little waterfalls along the way culminating in small ponds where you can cool off on a hot summer day. A great alternative to a day by the swimming pool.
Starting from the train station in Reith bei Seefeld, follow the path along the ancient Roman road until you arrive at forest trail on the left at Leithen. Carry on to the Leithen train station and from there follow the easy trail through the woods to the Schlossbachklamm. About half-way along you will see the over 100-year-old Karwendel railway bridge. Once you get to Schlossbach, there is a small wooden bridge leading you over a stream and from there it is a pleasant climb through the woods up to Hochzirl.
From Hochzirl follow the asphalted road past the hospital until you reach the train station.
You can return to Reith bei Seefeld by following the same route through the Schlossbachklamm in reverse, or else you can return by train.
The route through the Schlossbachklamm is quite gentle and therefore ideally-suited for families or for elderly people.
Please note that the walking path is closed in winter.
