Snowfarming in the Seefeld region - cross-country skiing in early winter & autumn

For many, winter is the best time of year. But sometimes the first snow takes a little longer to arrive. To ensure that cross-country skiers in Seefeld can hit the trails in early winter and even late autumn, a snow reservoir of around 6,000 m³ ensures an early start to the season. Successful models from Scandinavia and Davos brought the expertise to Tyrol. Since 2015, the resource-saving snow farming project has guaranteed the first training trail of the season - ideal for ambitious athletes and teams who want to start the winter season early. Nordic competition preparation in autumn, without long journeys - Snow-How makes it possible!

With the first fresh snow at the latest, you can then also discover the full diversity of the region: Over 245 kilometres of cross-country ski trails for all levels, wide & world-champion sections and night trails with twinkling floodlights. The current trail status of all trails can be seen at a glance in the digital trail and snow report via overview map and is updated daily by the service team.

Start of snowfarming trail: 14 November 2025 daily from 09:00 to 16:30 (as far as temperatures allow and the use of resources is justified)

For many, winter is the most beautiful season of all. But even if the temperatures turn frosty quite early in many places, the conditions are not stable enough to make snow and the first fresh snow is often a long time coming in some places. A shame for the start of the season, winter sports and timely holiday planning? Not at all, because thanks to snow farming, the valuable snow can also be conserved easily and sustainably.
