Equipment tips & important notes
- Trail running shoes: Light, grippy shoes with good cushioning provide support on varying terrain like gravel, forest floors, or rocky trails.
- The right running apparel: Opt for breathable, quick-drying materials that keep you cool in warm temperatures. A cap or a light headband protects against the sun.
- Don’t forget sunscreen: Sunglasses with UV protection and good sunscreen are essential on sun-exposed trails.
- Don't forget to hydrate: On longer tours, the body needs to stay hydrated, and it loses fluids more quickly in warm temperatures. A hydration system or a light bottle in your running belt helps you stay hydrated.
- Taking your phone is beneficial: A charged phone not only helps with navigation but also increases safety.
- Navigation aids: The GPX data can be easily downloaded in advance to your running watch or smartphone. Check our interactive map for information on the route to stay on the right track.
- Check the weather: Pay special attention to possible weather changes, as quick thunderstorms can occur in the mountains.
- Start early or run late: In hot summer months, the early morning or evening hours are the most pleasant times to run.
- Light in the dark: A powerful headlamp ensures that your paths are always well lit.
- For our nature: Stay on marked paths to ensure the safety of everyone and to respect local wildlife and protected areas.
