Mobility

A core theme for sustainable tourism

A well-developed mobility offering is an important building block for sustainable tourism. The use of public transport – both when arriving and during the stay – can help to alleviate traffic congestion in the region and provide comfortable mobility for guests and locals alike. Mobility is therefore a central component of the sustainability strategy of the Seefeld region, which is why a new, region-wide coordinated mobility concept was established in the summer of 2023.

Mobility offer of the Seefeld region

All year round, several bus lines and the train connect all five regional towns as well as Telfs. In summer and winter, additional lines to Wildmoos, into the Gaistal around the Arnspitze, as well as seasonal ski buses supplement the offer. The high plateau has three train stations, about 70 bus stops, a train and bus terminal right at the entrance to the Seefeld pedestrian zone, as well as a FlixBus stop in Seefeld.

Both guests and local residents benefit from this – seven days a week, all year round. The Guest Card serves as a ticket for all public bus connections in the region throughout the entire stay. For arrival at the accommodation, simply showing the booking confirmation is sufficient.

With this excellent starting position, as well as other offers from the tourism association and selected accommodation providers, such as optimized door-to-door luggage transport, collaborations & actions together with various mobility providers, or discounts on room rates for public transport arrivals, the incentives for a car-free vacation are continuously being developed regionally.

E-mobility in the Seefeld region

The company vehicles of the employees of the Seefeld Tourism Association have already mostly been converted to electric vehicles. For the preparation of the more than 240 kilometers of cross-country ski trails, the latest electric grooming machines are continuously being tested and will also be gradually switched over with an appropriate price-performance ratio.

A further milestone in terms of e-mobility is the regional switch to electric buses in 2026.

In addition, the Seefeld Tourism Association, together with the KEM Seefelder Plateau and the Plateau municipalities and other local actors, is striving for the continuous expansion of the electric charging stations in the region.
