The Karwendel Nature Park is the largest nature park in Austria and the largest protected area in Tyrol, known for the Great Maple Plain and the Isar spring. The latest expansion now also includes the Arnspitze Nature Reserve around Leutasch. The main focus areas of the nature park include nature conservation, recreation & tourism, environmental education, as well as knowledge & research, but also a colorful program of lectures and excursions at the Nature Park Info Center in Scharnitz is on the agenda!
Program on 01.10.2026:
To bring the beauty and sensitivity of our moors closer to people, the Mittenwald nature photographer Sebastian Frölich has come up with something very special. A multivision show with impressive artistic and documentary photographs is his way of highlighting the special features of these habitats in an entertaining and visually powerful way. An accompanying informative lecture, together with biologist Hermann Sonntag, makes for a perfect evening filled with education and interest. The subsequent discussion and Q&A session provides space to exchange ideas with the present experts.
No registration required, free admission!
Please also note the weekly guided tours Nature Park and Karwendel Gorge, Through the Gleirsch Gorge, the Leutasch
