The Tyrolean-style Hochegg-Alm (1,545 m) is located right on the forest path, about halfway up to the Rosshütte mid-station. It has a large sun terrace for a great view over the region and it is the perfect spot to stop and enjoy some typical Tyrolean treats, a refreshing drink or even a small schnaps. It has its own little play area where children can enjoy themselves while their parents have a well-earned rest. The small lake, the Kaltwassersee, is only a 10-minute walk away and you can easily walk around it or sit on one of the benches and simply enjoy the majestic mountains all around.
STARTING POINT You can get to the Hochegg-Alm on foot or by (e)-bike via a wide forest path. If you prefer an easier way, you can take the funicular to the Rosshüttemiddle station and walk back down to the alm. There are plenty of parking spaces at the bottom of the Rosshütte should you choose to come by car, or you have the option to visit Seefeld by train and to walk up to the Rosshütte from the railway station in the village centre.
