The sunny slopes of the Rosshütte are a paradise for families, hikers, bikers and via ferrata fans, and many of the hiking paths and biking trails lead directly to alms or mountain huts where you have fantastic views.

For those who prefer to take things easy, there is the option of a cable car ride up to 2,064 m where you have a breath-taking vista of the Tyrolean mountains. In one direction, you can see the five resorts of the Region Seefeld, nestling below the mountains of the Wetterstein and the Karwendel and the distinctive Hohe Munde peak, and on a clear day, you can see right along the Inn valley and as far as the Zugspitze in Germany. On the other side of the Seefelder Spitze, you have the majestic Karwendel Nature Park with its rugged cliffs, clear streams and green meadows and it is not unknown for hikers to forego the last mountain lift in order to enjoy the picturesque sunset from the Seefelder Spitze. With all that there is to see and do at the Rosshütte, nature lovers of all ages will be sure to have a wonderful time.

The history of the Rosshütte Seefeld

Walking a tightrope
The history of the Rosshütte Seefeld is both interesting and exciting when you realise that it all started with a fire. The name, “Rosshütte“, derives from the word for horse (“Pferd“ in standard German, “Ross“ in Tyrolean German) as it used to be a stable for horses.
