Via ferrata

Characteristics
The via ferrata runs through the north flank of the Reither Spitze and is secured throughout. The entrance leads into steeper rocky terrain, followed by alternating wall passages and traverses in partly steep and exposed terrain.

A prominent section is the rope bridge, followed by the subsequent summit wall, which leads directly to the summit area of the Reither Spitze.

The climb is varied overall and offers several airy passages. Despite moderate individual sections, it is alpinely characterized by its exposure and requires appropriate experience.

The most important facts summarized

• Vertical gain: approx. 200 m
• Length: approx. 400 m
• Difficulty: C
• Duration of the via ferrata: approx. 2 hours

Note
The via ferrata is suitable for advanced climbers. Sure-footedness, a head for heights, and alpine experience are required. The summit location of the Reither Spitze makes the tour particularly attractive – especially in stable weather conditions and clear visibility.

Access
Best from the Seefelder Joch station or the Härmelekopfbahn-Bergstation via the existing path network into the Reither Kar and follow the signs (approx. 45 minutes).

Descent
From the summit of the Reither Spitze, either via the rope-secured northwest ridge directly back to the Härmelekopfbahn or to the south to the nearby and managed Nördlinger Hütte and from there back
