Alpine Pastures & Huts in the Karwendel
Important information: Due to extensive renovation work, the Nördlinger Hut is expected to be closed from September 2026 until the start of the 2028 season. During this time, the hut will not be open for business and cannot be used for overnight stays or refreshments. The last night's stay will be on Sunday, August 16, 2026. Day visitors can still stop by the hut until Sunday, August 30, 2026. In August, clearing work will already be underway, which may cause noise pollution and slight disruptions to hut operations. From September 2026, demolition and preparatory measures for the general renovation in 2027 are already planned. Our hut manager, Tobias Müller, will try to set up and maintain a kiosk during the construction phase. The Karwendel Höhenweg trail will be diverted around the construction site and can still be used. Further information about the stages can be found here.
The Nördlinger Hütte (2,238m) is the highest refuge in the extensive Tyrolean Karwendel Mountains. The popular hiking destination is located directly on the Karwendel Höhenweg Trail in the Erlspitzgruppe above the Region Seefeld and was opened on 16 August 1898 (renovated in 1981).
