The cozy Hämmermoosalm (1.417m), managed all year round, is situated at the beginning of the pasture paradise Gaistal and easy to reach for families. The hut can be reached either on a wide gravel road (toboggan run in winter) or on the steeper Ganghofer way which is not allowed for bike use.

Four different dining rooms offer enouth space to enjoy, also private celebrations are possible - on request. The spacious sun terrace with its deck chairs and benches under shady umbrellas is the best place to admire the beautiful mountain panorama during the summer time.

Lazy summer evenings can be long and cozy because sometimes you can also meet the harp player Albert who adds gentle traditional tirolean hapr sounds to the panoramic view to the Mieminger Kette and regional delicacies. Enjoy the homemade potato salad, fresh made "Kaiserschmarrn", delicious pasture burger and typicil austrian dumplings. The products are regional: Local meat from Klamm 80b in Leutasch, fresh eggs from Wirtseppelerhof, excellent freshly roasted Unbound coffee from Wattens in Tyrol, beer from Zillertal - and for the special refreshment - the hut has its own water source.

During the summer months from the beginning of May until the end of October, numerous hikes and (e-)bike tours (loading possibilities available, for a fee, free with consumption) leads through the picturesque Wetterstein mountains. On the playground of the hut, children can experience also many exciting adventures.

Until today the Hämmermoosalm hut is a traditional alpine farm - please take care of pasture cattle. During the winter season from December until the end of March, a family-friendly natural toboggan run leads from the hut down into the valley.

On the upper floor of the alpine hut there are rooms with two or more beds for up to 28 people. Please book in advance. The charming accommodations have a guest bathroom, showers and toilets. Luggage transport can also be arranged on request. Do not miss the rustic pasture breakfast.

The Hämmermoosalm can be reached quickly and easily by various routes: By car from the Parking Salzbach. If you arrive by public transport, the hike starts from the bus stop "Leutasch Salzbach". Adventurers and connoisseurs can also reach the alpine pasture comfortably by horse-drawn carriage.
