Route: Car Park Mundestadl – Alpine Hut Rauthhütte – View Point Zugspitzblick – Hohe Munde Eastern Summit

This hike starts at the Mundestadl car park in Leutasch-Moos. Follow the path to the right through the woods until it joins the path from Obern to the hut Rauthütte. Initially the trail takes you upwards over grazing land to the Zugspitzblick viewpoint before you cross through a pine forest belt onto Alpine scree terrain. The following section over the eastern ridge to the eastern summit (2,592 m) is steep and rocky. The western summit can be reached via the gap in the ridge.
>> Attention: The mountain crossing to the west summit is closed until further notice!

You have 2 options when descending:
1) Return the same way as for the ascent.
2) Crossing the West Peak and on to the Niedere Munde (rope fixation). From here either via the Strassberghaus to Telfs or via the Gaistal back to Leutasch.
>> Attention: The mountain crossing to the west summit and "Niedere Munde" is closed until further notice!

The crossing to the "Niedere Munde" is at OWN risk. It is the responsibility of the mountaineer to assess whether the rope insurance can be used or not. An intact rope insurance cannot be guaranteed at any time.
The rope insurance is located in the alpine terrain, where conditions can change at any time.
>> Attention: The mountain crossing to the "Niedere Munde" is closed until further notice!
