tobbogan run Hämmermoosalm

In the deep snowy winter months, tobogganing enthusiasts reach the picturesque Hämmermoosalm on cleared hiking trails directly from the last parking lot Salszbach (P5) in Gaistal. The beginner and family-friendly ascent takes about 30 minutes through wildly romantic forest areas to the rustic refreshment stop at 1417 meters above sea level. Here you can sometimes meet the harpist Albert who provides a beautiful musical accompaniment to regional delicacies and steaming hot drinks in the wooden alpine hut.

Because the hut is only accessible by walk in winter, people with walking difficulties (small children as well) can use the free pick-up service from Salzbach parking lot. (Reservation with the Hämmermoosalm hut).

For more information on the family-friendly tobogganing fun call +43 5214 51669 or visit the website: www.haemmermoosalm.com. If you like to stay overnight on the cosy hut you can inquire and reserve via phone under +43 664 321 2561 or send an email to booking@airgreets.com.

Advice:

Be sure to check the condiditon of the toboggan run directly with the Hämmermoosalm in advance.

The ascent is on the same path as the descent - therefore pay special attention to oncoming traffic in both directions! Suitable shoes and weatherproof clothing are required, a helmet is highly recommended. The demands and condiditon of the toboggan run are best assessed by yourself uphill - if you are unsure be sure to turn back! The toboggan run is not technically secured and is not prepared or checked daily. Always drive carefully and adapted to the conditions. Use at your own risk.
