Route: Seekirchl - Kirchwald – Geiernest stamping point – Brunschkopf viewing platform
Parking and public transport:
P13 and various other carparks.
By train to Seefeld railway station (10 minutes on foot to the starting point).
Connection times can be found on the Seefeld ‘mobility‘ app.
Starting at the small church, the Seekirchl, follow the signs for Brunschkopf/Wildmoosalm. Walk next to the stream along the footbridge to the underpass. Turn right up to the WM hall on the Möserer Straße, follow the way to the right and take the first turn left into the Kirchwald residential area. Staying on Am Kirchwald street, take the first and second left, then go right, past some houses till you reach the gravel path, route no. 2. Follow the forest path uphill to the fork and turn left (towards the lake, Möserer See). Continue on the wide forest path (route no. 60) until you reach the junction for the Geiernest stamping point where you turn right onto route no. 63 (Brunschkopf via Geiernest).
The last few metres branch off steeply to the left at the next opportunity (signposted for Brunschkopf) and take you up some steps to the Brunschkopf viewing platform (route no. 62). The mountain panorama is fabulous and is best appreciated through the top-quality lens of the Swarovski telescope which you will find there.
Tip: there are various paths down from the platform that allow you to enjoy a circular walk instead of simply returning the same way (look out for the different resorts on the signposts). You will always come across signs for the Rundwanderweg um den Brunschkopf which you can use as reference markers to get back to your starting point.
