The Seefeld Region’s Sustainability Strategy
The Region Seefeld – Tirols Hochplateau is a truly special place. Set amid a unique landscape and bordering Austria’s largest nature park, Naturpark Karwendel, it represents an impressive blend of nature, culture and recreation. We see it as our responsibility not only to protect this valuable environment as effectively as possible, but also to actively support its continued development. Our natural spaces are not only places of relaxation for our guests, but also an essential basis of life for the people who live here.To live up to this responsibility, we are committed to a future-focused and competitive approach to tourism development that gives equal consideration to environmental, economic and social aspects. In recognition of this commitment, the Region Seefeld has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel for Destinations – an independent certification of our responsible approach to nature, resources and regional development.
Our goal is to preserve and further develop our recreational space so that it not only inspires people today, but can also be enjoyed by generations to come. Together with our partners, local businesses and the people who live here, we are shaping a region defined by quality, respect for nature and the responsible use of its natural and social resources. For us, the Austrian Ecolabel is not the final goal, but a confirmation that we are on the right path – and at the same time an incentive to continue pursuing it with consistency.

We Think in Generations, Not in Quarterly Figures.
The Core topics of Our Sustainability Strategy
Our strategy aims not only to further develop the Region Seefeld as an attractive place to live and relax, but also to preserve it for generations to come. Our initiatives, measures and projects are designed to create a balance between protecting nature, strengthening the regional economy and maintaining a high quality of life for both guests and locals. From innovative mobility concepts and the mindful use of regional resources to the development of a future-ready recreational space, the Region Seefeld is setting clear priorities for a responsible future.

Our Strategy for a Livable Future
For generations, values such as regionality, tradition and the mindful use of resources have shaped the way we act. Today, we have turned this commitment into a clear strategy based on the United Nations’ global Sustainable Development Goals.
With a comprehensive action plan and timeline, we show which measures and projects have already been implemented and what steps are coming next.
