An unforgettable winter adventure
Seefeld High Plateau Winter Multi-day Hike
Welcome to a multi-day hike such as you have never known before. Long-distance hiking on the Seefeld high plateau is both exhilarating and comfortable. Discover the beauty of the Tyrolean countryside over five days. Admire the fabulous scenery of the region without having to forego the comfort of a fixed base at the end of the day.
Really relaxing
Unwind step by step
The stages form a star shape and take you all over the region with Seefeld as the starting point. As opposed to the more traditional idea of long-distance hiking, here you have the advantage of a fixed base. All the stages are easily accessible on the free public transport system and you can look forward to breath-taking scenery, cultural highlights and delicious food. Over the five days, you will get to know the region and its five resorts and in the evenings, you will still have enough time to relax in Seefeld. Unwind in a wellness retreat, enjoy some fine dining or join in some of the local events.
What can you expect on the different stages?
Stage 1: from Seefeld via Reith to Leithen
Admire the beautiful countryside around Seefeld, including such highlights as the lake, the Wildsee, the Bee Trail and the Seefeld Sports Arena.
Stage 2: from Seefeld to Scharnitz
A leisurely walk to the so-called “Gateway to the Karwendel” with refreshment stops and an ever-changing landscape along the way.
Stage 3: from Burggraben through the Leutasch valley to Weidach
Discover the breath-taking beauty of the Leutasch valley on a variety of trails taking you past picturesque meadows and woodland.
Stage 4: from Weidach through Fludertal and via Wildmoos to Seefeld
Enjoy this pleasant, picture-postcard route through the idyllic Fludertal and the Wildmoos conservation area.
Stage 5: from Seefeld to Mösern and via Wildmoos back to Seefeld
Uncover the highlights in Mösern, including the Möserer lake, the Peace Bell and the sunny Wildmoos plateau.
Equipment tip: poles and spikes
A good pair of walking poles is always advisable and will provide you with extra support and comfort. If you want to feel really sure-footed while walking, bring along some spikes for your walking boots. The spikes have been specially developed for winter use and give you good support on snow and ice. Poles and spikes are available in the sports shops in the region. Snowline is a well-regarded make, as is the Austrian brand, Komperdell.
Really diverse
Comfort and diversity
After a day hiking through the region, you will still have plenty of time to unwind in Seefeld and can plan your evenings to suit yourself. Take advantage of the many wellness treatments in the region or see what is available on the programme of events or treat yourself to some fine dining. There is something for everyone on the plateau. Seefeld offers the perfect mix of leisure and entertainment so you can start each new day and each new stage rejuvenated and fully-motivated. Use of the local bus system is included with your guest-card, as is the rail link between Seefeld and Scharnitz.
