Sustainability Strategy of the Seefeld Region

The Seefeld region – Tyrol's high plateau is a special place. Nestled in a unique landscape and adjacent to Austria's largest national park, the Karwendel Nature Park, it represents an impressive symbiosis of nature, culture, and relaxation. We see it as our responsibility not only to protect this valuable environment as best as we can but also to actively promote it. Our natural areas are not just places for relaxation for our guests, but also a basis for the lives of the people who live here. To fulfill this responsibility, we focus on a forward-looking and competitive tourism development that takes ecological, economic, and social aspects into equal consideration. For this commitment, the Seefeld region has been awarded the Austrian Environmental Label for destinations – an independent proof of our responsible handling of nature, resources, and regional development.

Our goal is to preserve and further develop our recreational area so that it not only excites today but can also exist long-term for future generations. Together with our partners, businesses, and the local population, we are shaping a region characterized by quality, respect for nature, and a responsible approach to its natural and social resources. The Austrian Environmental Label is not an end goal for us, but rather a confirmation of our chosen path and a motivation to continue on this course consistently.

The core themes of our sustainability strategy

Our strategy aims to further develop the Seefeld region not only as a desirable living and recreational area but also to preserve it for future generations in the long term. Our initiatives, measures, and projects are intended to help create a balance between nature conservation, regional value creation, and quality of life for both guests and locals. From innovative mobility concepts to the conscious use of regional resources, as well as the design of a sustainable recreational space – the Seefeld region sets clear priorities for a responsible future.

Our strategy for a liveable future

For generations, values such as regionality, tradition, and careful resource management have shaped our actions. Today, we have transformed this commitment into a clear strategy based on the global sustainability goals of the United Nations.
With a comprehensive action plan and a timeline, we demonstrate which measures and projects have already been implemented and which steps are next on the agenda.
