After tackling the first short climb from the starting point Informationszentrum Seefeld to Mösern, you can already look forward to the first descent of approx. 600 meters in altitude on the Telfer Berg with magnificent views over the Inn Valley. Once you arrive in Telfs, cross the Inn River and follow the Inntalradweg at a relaxed pace until you reach Ötztal Bahnhof. Here, turn into the Ötztal valley and follow the Ötztalstraße on a gentle incline to Ötz. In Ötz, the demanding climb begins—the same route taken annually during the Ötztaler Radmarathon—up to Kühtai. With steep gradients and several tough passages that will truly challenge your calves, the Kühtaisattel is considered one of the more demanding Alpine passes. At 2,017 meters above sea level, you can enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding mountains in fine weather. After a rest, a spectacular descent follows – but take
Tip
- Before reaching Ötztal Bahnhof, you can alternatively reach Kühtai via Haiminger Berg in Haiming. Although this route has less traffic, it is considered more demanding than the variant via Ötz.
- To master this tour, a high level of physical fitness is required. However, instead of the final climb at Telfer Berg, you can also choose the more comfortable option of a scenic train ride from Innsbruck Westbahnhof/Hötting/Allerheiligenhöfe or Kranebitten back to Seefeld.
