STARTING POINT
If you come by car, you can leave your vehicle at the Karwendel car park (Länd car park) in Scharnitz and visit the Holzerhütte museum - with fascinating background information about the Alpine region, its alpine farming and the lush biodiversity in the extensive Karwendel forests. An environmentally conscious alternative is to take the train directly to Scharnitz, from where you can reach the Holzerhütte Museum on foot in about ten minutes.
SUMMER TOURS
- To the Scharnitzer Alm. A comfortable forest road leads directly from the Scharnitz information centre at the Karwendel car park into the extensive Karwendel Nature Park. After about 15 minutes the Isarsteig branches off to the right, leads onto the Nederweg and after a short while
