Scharnitz in winter

Winter in Scharnitz is tranquil and beautiful. There are cleared hiking trails leading through the snowy landscapes and, on selected evenings, visitors can also join a popular torchlight hike. Alternatively, take to the landscape on snowshoes, where experienced guides will lead a tour of the most beautiful sunny spots around Scharnitz. Or guests can simply take to the trails on one of the three cross-country ski runs instead! If the weather doesn't cooperate, you can make your own herbal ointments in Scharnitz or go on the exciting trail of the timber drift in the Karwendel mountains in the Holzerhütte interactive museum every Thursday. Advent also shows its best side every year in Scharnitz with a small Christmas market at the music pavilion.
