Shopping regionally: Our producers and their farm stores

Johanna Krug has her little paradise right on her doorstep: her herb garden. She has made her own dream come true on 700 square meters. A huge variety of colorful and fragrant plants bloom at her Joslhof in Unterleutasch.

Amid colorful mountain flowers and lush green meadows, up to 4,000 chickens live on the family-run organic farm in Leutasch. From the organic eggs, the region originals Tamara and Mathias Heis also produce pasta at the farm.

Thomas Nairz grew up on the Lippenhof in Leutasch. The hereditary farm has already been in the family for 277 years – now Thomas is the next generation to run the farm. The Leutasch local farmer chairman runs the only self-service milk vending machine with BIO milk in our region. Tip: bring your own bottle to the vending machine & check out our GIF at the pictures.

At the farm store some farmers from Leutasch have joined forces and open their doors once a week. In the rustic farm store, only products from Leutasch farmers and Tyrolean direct marketers are offered.

At the almost five hundred year old farm you will find one of the most beautiful self-service farm stores far and wide. By the way, the family farm is located in a fantastic location, so you can also spend a wonderful farm vacation here.

The Wirtseppelerhof in Leutasch has three vacation apartments for an idyllic vacation in the middle of nature. Simone and Matthias like to show their guests their life on the farm and Simone, a trained herbalist, gives herb tours. The farm store sells the products they make themselves: "We only want to offer healthy things from our own cultivation!". You can read the whole story about Simone and the Wirtseppelerhof here.

At the foot of the Hohe Munde lies the Zottlhof and its namesake inhabitants: the highland cattle. At the Zottlhof, there are stable tours for anyone who wants to get to know the Zottl better. In addition, owner Regina runs her own small but very fine farm store. There she markets products from her own Zottl. The Zottlhof also offers a wonderful picnic with a view of the Hohe Munde.

It could hardly be more central! At the self-service machine in the center of Seefeld you can get fresh free-range eggs from the Sterzingerhof farm in Mösern every day. The Bacher family also offers a very special highlight: In their farm in Mösern not only a lovingly maintained museum of local history awaits astonished eyes and ears, but also a petting zoo invites you to experience mountain farm life up close.

The Gapphof in idyllic Reith near Seefeld is home to about 16 cows and 19 head of young cattle, a few rabbits and chickens – and to farmer and hostess Maria Gapp. Maria makes her own products from the milk of her cows: yogurt, cream cheese, curd (quark) and a "herb rollino" she prepares several times a week.

The industrious bees of Ferdi's Beekeeping are at home in the mountains of Tyrol: up to 2,000 meters above sea level they are on the move – with "high-altitude permission", so to speak. On the one hand, they collect valuable ingredients from rare plants on the mountain and alpine meadows. And on the other hand they promote the biodiversity of our nature. The young beekeeper Ferdi processes these with much heart blood to genuine nature products.

The store of the "Rasler" has been in the family for about 150 years and today the family offers regional products from nature and their own agriculture. Among other things, the bacon has been produced for generations with an unchanged recipe.

The Tiroler Speckklause is a lot more versatile than the name suggests. It is a gourmet store with everything your heart desires. From homemade Schlutzkrapfen to cheese from regional alpine dairies to our own bacon, there is something for everyone here. The variety of creative farmers is immense and cannot be presented in one article. We are proud of our local suppliers and their important contribution to maintaining local food production and ensuring one of the most important basic human needs – nutrition.
