The hike starts at car park P15 near the music pavilion in Weidach (Leutasch). There is ample parking available here (including public toilets), and the “Weidach Zentrum” bus stop is located nearby.

From the music pavilion, follow the road towards Oberweidach. After just a short distance, the first views open up towards the striking Hohe Munde. After a short while, turn left, cross a small bridge and, at the junction near Hotel Kristall, keep right towards Seewald. Following the road uphill, you will reach a small turning area. This is where the asphalt ends and the forest road begins.

The forest road climbs steadily through the woods. After some time, a trail branches off to the right. Follow this path to a lovely viewpoint with a bench and a stamping point – an ideal spot for a short break and views across the Leutasch Valley. The trail continues uphill to the Katzenkopfhütte. From here, wide panoramic views open up over the Leutasch Valley, with vistas of the Wetterstein Mountains and the Hohe Munde. The
