Winter in cross-country paradise
6 reasons for your next cross-country holiday in Seefeld!
1 cross-country skiing paradise + 6 good reasons = lots of spine-tingling moments. From the new high-altitude trail to training with the world's best and the legendary Ganghoferlauf race, Seefeld has everything cross-country skiers love. Why should you make your tracks here this winter? Here are the top 6 reasons.
1. On to new heights
Work has been ongoing throughout the year, and now it's finally here: the new Leutasch-Wildmoos high-altitude cross-country ski trail! This unique route leads through beautiful forests and revives parts of the former Olympic cross-country ski trail. It is an absolute highlight for experienced cross-country skiers and also offers a free ride on the Katzenkopf lift.
2. Gold Standard
Glide across the cross-country ski trail alongside the world's best. The winter sports elite use Seefeld as their base camp for the Triple and Olympic events. World champions, Olympic champions and those who aspire to become champions come here to hone their skills. This means that there are no better training conditions for ambitious athletes than here.
3. A phenomenon – but for everyone
It is the largest, it is the oldest, it is the most popular! In short, it is a phenomenon. At the end of every winter season, the Ganghoferlauf in Leutasch captivates the cross-country skiing world. From 3-year-olds attempting their first glides to die-hard professionals, everyone takes part. In the new fun category, the headband quickly turns into a unicorn. It is a cross-country skiing event like no other.
4. A day without stress – also with the kids
With 245 kilometres of cross-country trails, you can always find peace and quiet up here – even with the kids in tow. The magic formula is ‘ski-hike-eat-repeat’. As the winter hiking trails and cross-country ski trails are usually very close to each other here, one parent can walk through the woods with the children while the other enjoys a few relaxed laps. Afterwards, everyone meets up at the hut and swaps roles. A perfect recipe!

5. Pure enjoyment, even away from the slopes
After skiing comes relaxing. Namely, relaxing in a deckchair with a hot chocolate after your workout. Right next to the trails, there are rustic huts with wonderful sun terraces throughout the region. This is simply part of a successful day on the trails.

6. Snow - that's a promise
This year, Mother Holle took her time until well into December. But what little snow there was received full support in Seefeld and Leutasch. The expanded snow-making system and the snow safely stored from the previous year ensured cross-country skiing fun even when there was a lack of snow.
