Route: Scharnitz Nature Park Info Center - Gleirschhöhe - Gleirschtal - Hoher Gleirsch - Scharnitz
Very long hike, which requires good physical fitness. To save time, it is recommended to take the bike up to Möslalm and then continue on foot to the Hoher Gleirsch.
From the Scharnitz Nature Park Info Center, follow the Hinterautalstraße to the Gleirschhöhe. There take the turnoff to the right into the Gleirschtal. First the road leads downwards, before it goes steeply upwards over the so-called "Krapfen". Continue a few kilometers into the valley until you reach the Möslalm junction. Shortly after the turnoff, keep left and follow the path, through a private property, up to the left. After a short time you come back to a forest road. Turn right here and shortly after follow the signs to the left (the bike stops here) along a narrow path. This leads first through forest and mountain pines, before it goes sharply to the left over a large scree field further up. There follows another section with mountain pines and in the upper area rocky, rubble-rich terrain. You will be rewarded with a view over all the peaks and valleys of the western Karwendel. The way back is the same as the ascent.
