Summit hike
Climbing the highest peak in the Karwendelgebirge is a challenge best mastered as a scenic Bike & Hike tour. Sure-footedness, a head for heights, and experience in high-alpine terrain as well as short climbing sections are absolutely essential!
The tour starts directly at the Karwendelparkplatz Länd (P2) at the Naturpark-Infozentrum Scharnitz. Here, you saddle your (e-)bike and cycle eastwards on the Hinterautalstraße. After the Isar bridge, turn left towards the impressive Bike Trail Tirol and follow the yellow signposts through the picturesque Karwendeltal to the historic Karwendelhaus at 1,765 meters above sea level.
Since 1908, the mountain hut has served as a popular base for Karwendel traverses, summit tours, and climbing excursions. During the warm summer months, overnight stays at the historic hut are possible – however, early reservation is strictly requested.
