Directions:
On this hiking tour through the snow-covered Fludertal valley, you will come across animal tracks in the forest, find breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains along the way and finally enjoy a cosy stop at the summit of the Katzenkopf on the sun terrace or by the open fire in the traditional tavern.
From the starting point at the car park of the valley station at the Leutascher Katzenkopf, you can already guess the culinary highlight of the hike at the summit. Those who shy away from the ascent can also shorten it here directly via the mountain railway. Otherwise, turn left between the houses towards the edge of the forest and onto the hiking trail to Neuleutasch. After a short forest passage, you cross the main road, hike along the road for a bit and take the next turn into the forest after the first crossroads.
Now the hiking trail leads in gentle serpentines through the picturesque Fludertal valley and then takes a long forest loop (keep to the right) to the summit of the Leutascher Katzenkopf. Here, the small Katzenkopfhütte (1,360m) not only tempts you with fabulously delicious Kaiserschmarrn, but also offers a particularly panoramic rest on the sun terrace. Once you have had your fill of the panoramic view over the snow-covered Leutasch valley, you can relax on the two-and-a-half-kilometre-long toboggan run to Seewald and turn right back to the starting point at the Katzenkopf car park.
