Sweet, summery, seasonal: cranberry dumplings

They should not be missing in the Tyrolean summer in any case: Cranberries! The small blue berries - they are also called blueberries or bilberries - are currently growing everywhere in our region. They are not only the perfect refreshment during a hike, you can easily make delicious delicacies from them.

"Cranberry dumplings"

We have a recipe that brings back sweet childhood memories for you: Moosbeernocken! Patrick Trois from the Dorfkrug in Mösern shares his "child's play" instructions.

Ingredients (1 - 2 servings):

For the cranberry dumplings you only need a few ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 sip milk
  • 1 hand handy flour
  • 1 - 2 hands of cranberries; alternatively other berries and fruits to your taste
  • clarified butter or fat for frying

For the "topping":

  • Powdered sugar (powdered sugar)
  • Cinnamon sugar
  • Vanilla ice cream, if desired
Preparation:

Mix the egg, a sip of milk and a hand of non-skimmed flour. Mix the mixture into a slightly firmer pancake batter (pancakes: pancakes), then stir 1-2 hands of cranberries into the batter with a fork. Fry in a hot pan with clarified butter for 2 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels. Then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and powdered sugar and enjoy with ice cream. Hmm, summer tastes sooo good!

Tip: If you love berries, you can of course try this recipe with other berries - for example raspberries, currants and co.
