The Seefeld Plateau Breakfast: Your truly sustainable start to the day!

Good morning, sunshine! The perfect day begins with the right breakfast: delicious and varied, fresh and full of energy. And of course: everything regional! What sounds extraordinarily delicious has long since become everyday life in the Region Seefeld. Selected regional businesses serve exclusively regional quality products in the morning, from free-range eggs to mountain bee honey, under the "Seefeld Plateau Breakfast" seal of quality. We have feasted on the most varied breakfast buffet in the Alps for you.

Regional – but properly!

With the project real sustainable, the Region Seefeld has been striving to strengthen the topic of sustainability on the high plateau since fall 2020. In addition to measures for nature conservation and biodiversity, the tourism association is also committed to regional food and value-added cycles: short distances reduce resources, traditional crafts strengthen culture and regional identity, and agriculture on Tyrol's high plateau produces high-quality food directly on site. For over a year now, a whole range of local products have been available as "Echtes Plateauprodukt" (genuine plateau products) at the Seefeld information office and selected hotels.

Fresh, delicious, sustainable.

The "Seefeld Plateau Breakfast" project – developed by the tourism association together with Agrarmarketing Tirol and Neutrauter*Frisch – is now venturing a further step. The sustainable idea: to obtain central components of a rich alpine breakfast directly and regionally. Bread, butter, milk and eggs as well as at least one kind of jam, cheese and sausage specialties. Genuine Tyrolean quality products, if possible even local products directly from the plateau. So you can enjoy the whole variety of the region already in the morning on your plate. For example in the Alpine Resort Sacher Seefeld – Tyrol, Klosterbräu Hotel & Spa and Hotel Garni Olympia in Seefeld. Or in the Alpenhotel Karwendel as well as the Apartmenthotel Zugspitze in Leutasch. But also in the Lärchenhof Natur and the Panoramahotel Inntalerhof in Mösern – and soon some more!

Honest lasts longest

The sustainable idea is by no means new, as many guest establishments have been offering regional products for some time. The "Plateaufrühstück" now creates an official standard – for which the businesses are also visibly awarded by Agrarmarketing Tirol. Similar to the "Bewusst Tirol" project, all delivery quantities are meticulously recorded by AMTirol and randomly checked on site. An honest and objective system.

"By using regional foods, the Plateaufrühstück partner businesses not only provide culinary added value, but also promote environmental and climate protection through short transport routes and sustainable food production. The added value remains in the region," emphasizes Matthias Pöschl, Managing Director of Agrarmarketing Tirol.

The early bird gets the worm!

The advantages of regional economy also ensure increased appreciation among guests, who thus also experience each breakfast much more consciously. While the hosts can position themselves with award and quality seal advertising-effectively. As successful Best Practice example the Seefelder plateau breakfast is to serve in the future also different regions as collecting main. Because with the most valuable natural treasures directly from the heart of the Alps also an old farmer's proverb wins here completely new meaning: Morning hour has gold in the mouth!
