Karwendel March

10 days of setup and dismantling, almost the entire tourism association involved, and planning throughout the year: the effort for the legend of the Karwendelmarsch is enormous. Is it still worth it every time? A single glance at the faces of the participants and the stunning pictures that have been created again this year makes the question obsolete. Many staff members were on duty almost continuously from Friday morning until Saturday evening to make this very successful running festival possible again.

Sunrise concert delights early risers

Last Saturday, early risers in Seefeld were treated to a very special sunrise concert. The South Tyrolean singer-songwriter Max von Milland and around 650 other early risers defied tired eyes and welcomed the fire in the sky and in their hearts together. Most of the organization was handled by the Rosshütte. The TVB took on some of the expenses and costs for ticketing and supported with newsletters and information sharing. The uniqueness of the event was and still is the atmosphere on the mountain at a very special time. This event is also set to return to the Rosshütte in 2027. What is not yet clear is whether it will take place again at dawn or at sunset.

Gate Wildmoos_(c)ELias

Comfortable

Pasture gates on hiking and cycling paths are important, but often not easy or pleasant to deal with. Bicycles, strollers, or other means of transport often get in the way when opening and closing the gates. The TVB has come up with a solution and installed easily operable gates next to the pasture gates in Wildmoos. These can be simply pushed in the direction of travel and you can continue on your way. The animals, however, remain safely behind. Definitely an improvement in quality for a more comfortable journey. More gates in the region are planned.

Best Panorama View

Observation platforms are very popular – allowing a clear view into the distance and discovering the (holiday) region from above creates top moments. To ensure that no details are missed or to precisely locate one’s own house or hotel, there are several Viscope telescopes available on Tyrol's high plateau. In addition to perfect long-distance views, they also offer interactive elements like the displayed names of mountain peaks.
The newest of these telescopes was installed this week at the large Toni-Seelos jump, from which one can enjoy a perfect 360° panoramic view of Seefeld. For our little ones, there is a suitable children's platform.

Summer Nights

Just as summer is coming to an end, the desire to savor every minute of the warm evenings is great. To keep things interesting, the Seefeld municipality and the TVB will keep the floodlight system at the Seekirchl Play Park on until 10 PM daily until the end of the holidays. The padel courts and ball game areas are thus well illuminated.
During the day, the play park has a lot to offer as well. Its setup is now completely finished. Recently, covered seating areas and a drinking fountain were added for cozy breaks.

Musical enjoyment

Currently, the 18th edition of the Seefeld Music Days is taking place in Seefeld with Rudens Turku. The star violinist offers master classes for special musical talents together with his team and enchants Tyrol's high plateau with concerts featuring top-class artists. Last week, the already traditional Night of Classics captivated listeners in the Kurpark despite the uncertain weather.
The tourism association has always supported the Music Days. Especially during the concerts, our entire event team is at work, as well as our marketing team promoting the event. Our contribution reaches five-figure amounts in the budget.

Fully Present

Thanks to numerous influencer trips, Tyrol's high plateau is once again showing a lot of presence on social media and blogger websites. By the end of July, follower-strong content creators from Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, and Germany visited us. Vincent Croce produced and published impressive images from the Karwendel, Eyal and Sharon Krafft were thrilled by Leutasch, Serena Biella took her family on tours in and around Seefeld, Lisa and Ricardo presented Arena365 with a roller track and showcased our strength in trail running, and Marlene took a trip to the gorge which she described as Caribbean-like.
Everyone was in any case enthusiastic about our region and is thereby attracting new guests.

Sunday Times

In May, a beautiful article by Mike MacEacheran was published in the renowned Sunday Times. The well-known travel journalist hiked the Leutascher 3-day hut-to-hut trek for families with his family last summer and was very enthusiastic. As is known, this hike is unfortunately not possible this summer due to the hut issues. However, on their website, you will find three exciting alternatives that promise just as great a continuing hiking experience and hut flair.

Our webcams have a cool new feature. Our team recently integrated the so-called FlyingCam Region Seefeld. This includes drone videos of the region that are updated regularly. While the footage is not live, it will always be current and provide our guests with a new, exciting insight into the region.
For the winter season, we plan to forward this to the TV channels BR, MünchenTV, and SWR for broadcasting.

Seefeld in the German Weather TV

In early July, the TV channels ntvNachrichten, RTL Deutschland, and SAT.1 visited us and made recordings at Tyrol's high plateau. As a result, the region was featured all day on German weather channels on July 6 and 7. Filming took place at the Hämmermoos-Alm, by the Isar River, at Lake Möserer, at the Peace Bell, and at the WM Tower in Arena365.
The two well-known weather moderators Paul Heger and Alban Burster reached a total of about 4.8 million viewers. The actual broadcast time was 30 minutes each day.

Summer freshness

Last Monday, the Radio Tirol Summer freshness visited us once again. This time, it was a discover day at Areana365. Despite the uncertain weather conditions, over 500 people set out on an exploration tour. For the adults, the highlights were certainly the ski jump tour and the biathlon trial shooting. The kids unleashed their energy on the bouncy castles, in the bike parkour, and while playing. Many also followed the riddle rally, where there were great prizes to be won. The 11er enjoyment bus provided culinary delights.
Between Friday and Monday, about 15 employees from the TVB were on duty to ensure a smooth setup and takedown and to optimally assist the guests on site.

New Hiking Bus

Since Monday, a new free hiking bus has been in operation between Scharnitz train station – Straße durch den Boden – Leutasch/Weidach – Unterleutasch – Mittenwald – and back to Scharnitz. This was organized at the initiative of the municipalities of Leutasch, Scharnitz, and Mittenwald, as well as the two tourism associations of the Seefeld region and the Alpenwelt Karwendel/Mittenwald. The route of the hiking bus Arnspitzrunde is operated by Wetterstein-Reisen. You can find the timetable here.
This new route brings two major advantages for our guests: Firstly, the hiking area of Karwendel is directly connected to Leutasch, and secondly, Mittenwald can be reached again via Unterleutasch. At the same time, vacationers from the Isar Valley can conveniently and quickly enjoy our offerings in Leutasch for a day trip.

On Track

Last week, our sustainability coordinator Michaela Kraler attended a networking event of the TW project “On Track” in Innsbruck. Together with representatives from ÖBB, Swiss Federal Railways, Deutsche Bahn, and VVT, the TW, the TVBs Innsbruck and Seefeld, as well as Astrid Rollinger from “Vacation on the Farm” and Verena Bellony from Alpine Resort Schwarz, discussed how to make travel by train more attractive for guests. Structural topics were discussed alongside communication strategies, and both positive and negative experiences with initiatives, incentives, and product packages were shared.

Tyrol's high plateau is certainly very advanced in this regard, but it is always dependent on good cooperation with regional partners. This is optimally promoted through regular exchanges.

Significant Increase

In the first weeks of July, two classic events in the region took place again: the Strudel festival and the Winzerfest. Our event team was on site both times with six and seven members respectively. A total of 11 days of work went into setup and teardown activities. We take care of setting up the wooden huts, market stalls, umbrellas, tents, stages, as well as providing support for sound and lighting technology.
With beautiful weather, visitor numbers were clearly above those of 2025, with an increase of 30% to 40%. We are proud to have treated so many guests and locals to culinary and musical delights together with our businesses

Certified Hiking Village

After Seefeld in 2023, Leutasch has now also been designated as a certified hiking village by the Austrian Hiking Villages. With the Gaistal Alpine Round Hike, the Village Round Hike Weidachsee-Leutascher Ache, as well as its entire infrastructure, the valley impressed the experts.
The certificate was handed over to managing director Elias Walser at the Hiking Symposium 2026 in Bad Hofgastein at the end of June. In the coming days, the corresponding signs will be installed by our Leutasch municipal team under the direction of Andreas Steuxner.
At the symposium, the topics of hiking as a source of mental and physical health, as well as hiking in the tension between the need for authentic, unadulterated experiences and AI-optimized activities, were also in focus.

Vision 2040

Just before the end of the school year, the first year of the new cooperation between the TVB and the Mittelschule Seefeld reached a successful conclusion. During the Design Jam, the students developed their vision for Tyrol's high plateau in 2040 and presented it in 90-second pitches to a five-member jury. There were many exciting ideas, from a regional food truck offering local products in young dishes, to a green energy cycle for the school, to a weekly plan app that introduces its users to a lesser-known excursion destination in the region every day. You can find more information here.

Nature in Transition

In early July, a small group of interested people met with biologist, mountain guide, nature guide, and climate educator Hermann Sonntag in the Karwendel, to get to know the nature of this local mountain range better through four stations and to understand the impacts of climate change in water, forest, rock, and gorge. Sonntag also provided an outlook on what we can expect in the future.
The offer was aimed at the members of Team Plateau and locals. However, we also had the pleasure of welcoming three long-time regular guests who enriched the exchange and development of共同 ideas around nature, climate, and regional responsibility with their outside perspective.

Top Offer

The Tirol Tourism Board has taken a close look at the local trail running offer and has included Tirol's high plateau in the five top trail running regions. We stand out primarily with our dual offer for summer and winter as well as several top trails in different levels of difficulty. Additionally, we score points with our perfectly prepared tours, including GPX data and elevation profiles, convenient public transport access, our events - like the Karwendelmarsch, the Ganghofertrail in Leutasch or the Wintertrail in Seefeld - and our businesses that provide materials, guided tours, and many other services on-site. More details about our offer can be found on our trail running page.

Despite the great heat, the 5th Good Vibes Festival with Marcel Clementi took place quite relaxed last weekend. 200 satisfied yogis enjoyed many exciting sessions. The thunderstorms triggered some spontaneous set-up and take-down actions for the organizing team of the TVB, especially on Sunday, which were all managed well. The exhibitors also expressed satisfaction with the three days of yoga vibes on Tyrol's high plateau. Medially, we received quite a bit of attention from Tirol TV and the ORF program "Am Schauplatz." Time to Climb

Since mid-June, three via ferratas have been available in the region. In addition to the Seefeld panorama via ferrata, the Thyrsus and Haymon via ferratas have been added on the Reither side. You don’t have to be a legendary giant like the two namesakes to tackle these. Ensuring you have safe footing, a head for heights, and the necessary equipment – which can be rented at the Rosshütte cable cars and other businesses in the region – is sufficient.
The via ferratas were constructed by Andreas Würtele, among others an expert in alpine trail construction and a specialist in mountaineering. You can get a first look at our Instagram page. The great reel was edited by influencer rike.mountainlife, who often travels across Tyrol's high plateau.

Protect Native Species

Neophytes are increasingly spreading and threatening our native species. However, we can actively combat them. Last Wednesday, Dr. Konrad Pagitz from the University of Innsbruck came to us and discussed the topic with around 20 dedicated members of the Team Plateau. The focus was on questions such as: How do I recognize neophytes, and how do I properly remove and dispose of them? Furthermore, Pagitz introduced the most common representatives found here: Himalayan balsam, giant goldenrod, knotweed, and giant hogweed.

The Team Plateau now meets regularly to remove neophytes and thus protect our native species. Volunteers are always sought and welcome! For more information on the dates, you can find it here for Leutasch and Scharnitz. The next tour in Seefeld starts on July 24 at 5 PM at Waldbad Sonja (P7).

Understanding Change

On Saturday, July 4, 2026, the TVB, together with biologist and climate educator Hermann Sonntag, invites you to an exciting hike in the Karwendel Gorge. The expert will show us how climate change is noticeable in the Alps. In addition to interesting insights that will change our understanding of nature, the focus will be on exchange and getting to know each other. The event is part of the Team Plateau project and is supported by the federal government, state, and European Union.
We will start at 10 a.m. at the Nature Park Information Center in Scharnitz. The hike lasts about 3 hours and covers 9.5 kilometers and a height difference of 135 meters. Please register by contacting michaela.kraler@seefeld.com or 0664-8572508.

Art Tip: "House T"

Since Friday, the KiS – Art in Seefeld has been showing the Exhibition Thomas Schütte "House T". Large-format woodcuts, an architectural model, and a video about the realization of the "Holiday House T." - whose model was realized in Mösern - are on display. Schütte's works navigate between model, sculpture, and imaginary space – familiar yet enigmatic. The "Holiday House T." in Mösern is a special highlight, realized as a walk-in sculpture, which can be visited as part of the exhibition.

The exhibition is open with free admission until September 27, 2026, every Friday to Sunday, from 4 – 6 PM at the Old Fire Hall.

Combatting Neophytes

As part of the Team Plateau, the TVB, the Plateau municipalities, and the KEM Seefeld Plateau invite you to an info event on the topic of Neophytes on Wednesday, June 24 at 6 PM. How do these non-native plant species harm our regional biodiversity? What can we do to protect them? In addition to a brief theoretical introduction, we will then take active measures against the intruders. This topic will be addressed even more collaboratively across municipalities in the future. Everyone who wants to help strengthen our precious biodiversity is therefore warmly invited. This time, the meeting point is at the parking lot of the Heel car workshop in the Leutasch industrial area. You can find more information here.
In Scharnitz and Leutasch, there will be additional dates for combating neophytes starting from now on every Friday. These will be supervised by Monika and Hans Bantl, and Daniela Mocker-Ahrer. More detailed information can be found above under the links.

Future Cross-Country Skiing

At the end of May, Lisa Krenkel attended the annual meeting of the "X-Country Hotels & Resorts e.V." at the Brandnamic Campus in Brixen. New members from our region include the Biohotel Leutascherhof and Hotel Eden. The meeting in South Tyrol provided exciting insights that can influence future offerings. The current marketing report indicates a slight preference for classical technique among guests. The quality and length of the trails are critical in choosing a region, with personal recommendations being highly valued. The platform Cross Country Ski Holidays is utilized for vacation planning, and its logo serves as a recommendation in AI queries. Future researcher Andreas Reiter also sees cross-country skiing as a strong partner in the emerging health and longevity tourism.

Plant Ingredients and Longevity

The 6th Austrian Summit on Natural Products last weekend focused entirely on the topic of Longevity. In around 40 lectures and panel discussions, leading scientists illuminated how plant ingredients contribute to more healthy years of life. The topic of extending healthy life years, briefly Longevity, is becoming an increasingly important aspect in tourism as well. The Alpin Resort Sacher has increasingly dedicated itself to this topic in recent years, and thus served as the conference hotel.

As a region, we are proud that experts from this growing global market have been our guests for the 6th time. In addition to researchers, representatives from leading companies ranging from L’Oréal to Bionorica were also present.

Almputz

Last Thursday, our sustainability coordinator Michaela Kraler and the Plateau Pioneers were again together with nature park manager Anton Heufelder at the Almputz on Kastenalm in Hinteraurtal. As part of the 'Nature Conservation Plan on the Alm', protruding branches of dwarf pines were trimmed and emerging young spruces were cleared. Additionally, the group collected fallen branches and larger stones into piles. The aim of these measures is to maintain the structurally rich mosaic of limestone grasslands, dwarf pine bushes, and light canopies. This interplay not only defines the charm of the alpine landscape in Karwendel but also its health.

Special Edition Future

Last week, the Tyrolean high plateau proudly hosted the Special Edition of the European Media Summit, to which the state of Tyrol and ProMedia Kommunikations GmbH had invited guests to the Sports and Congress Center Seefeld. The focus was on the future of Austrian media; its significance, its economic perspective, and its challenges. Governor Anton Mattle clearly affirmed the importance of free media for liberal democracies and called for a sustainable safeguarding and strengthening of regional media. The key to this, experts such as ORF General Director Ingrid Turnher, German media scholar Bernhard Pörksen, Swiss media manager Markus Spillmann, and all present industry representatives agreed, lies in stronger cooperation. The evening reception of the regional media at the AlpinResort Sacher was also used for intensive exchange.

Star-shaped

Just in time for Pentecost, the hiking weather is setting in on Tyrol's high plateau. Of course, this also rekindles the desire for long-distance hiking with the family. Unfortunately, due to the situation around Wettersteinhütte and Wangalm, our Leutascher 3-Day Hut Hike for families is currently closed. However, you can find some exciting alternatives on their website and on our family hiking page. And don't forget: Families can also benefit from the new format of star-shaped long-distance hiking that we recently introduced in the print edition. Several days, several hikes with a light backpack, but a fixed accommodation with additional offerings. And the hut atmosphere can also be perfectly enjoyed during the day with dumplings and Kaiserschmarrn.

Integration as the Key

Implementing sustainability, especially in tourism, is not straightforward. This point was recently agreed upon by the Tyrolean sustainability coordinators during their meeting at Lake Achensee. The key to success lies in understanding that sustainability must not be viewed as an additional topic, but rather integrated into all processes, decisions, and offerings. How this can be achieved was discussed using implementation examples from the Achensee region. Michaela Kraler brought back exciting insights to the high plateau.

Nature-friendly Gardening

When the flowers begin to bloom in spring, the longing for a beautiful garden grows. Even at 1200 meters with barren soils and snow in May, not much effort is needed. This was learned in early May by the gardening members of the Team Plateau. Franz Staudinger and Marianne Enthofer demonstrated how to create a low-maintenance, nature-friendly garden with climate-fit beds. The Ganghofer Museum provided the model areas as hosts, which were eventually sown with the treasures from the local Seed Library. Thanks to everyone who participated. We are already looking forward to the first blooming!

It is located in the largest nature park of the Eastern Alps and is home to a lot of untouched nature. At the same time, climbing history has been made here and pioneering work has been done. Today, nature conservation, dreamy high-altitude hikes, and extreme sports like canyoning co-exist peacefully in this unique landscape. Supported by Scharnitz's Heinz Zak and Leutasch's David Sikan, Servus TV provides insight into all these facets in its mountain world documentary “Karwendel – A Wild Alpine World”. To be seen on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 8:15 PM on Servus TV.

Clean and quiet

Since this week, six new e-buses are operating on Tirol's high plateau in regular service. By the end of the month, the entire SAT fleet in our region will be converted to the ECITARO vehicles. Just in time for the start of the summer season, you can travel from A to B with us in a completely emission-free and super quiet way. We are pleased to have achieved this milestone that we set for ourselves in 2023 as the first tourism destination to be honored with the Austrian Environmental Certificate.

Climate Resilient

Last week, the 'RepLab Destinations' of the Mount Resilience Project met for a study trip in Seefeld. The project includes ten regions of European mountain areas from Lapland to northern Spain and Bulgaria that are addressing climate change and its impacts in the mountains. Tyrol's high plateau is one of the demo regions developing and testing transformative solutions for climate change adaptation. Elias Walser and sustainability coordinator Michaela Kraler presented the region to the other members, highlighting our current challenges and how we are tackling them with our new strategy and active climate change adaptation. Simon Rios-Damerow presented the role of the KEM.

Future Plans

In April, managing director Elias Walser, destination and product management leader Joachim Pölzl, and our future marketing director Katharina Emslander visited the adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach. In addition to getting an insight into the headquarters of the global brand, the three discussed with Robert Mücke (Head of Global Sports Marketing adidas Olympics, Winter Sports & Cycling) and Andreas Träxler (Global Sports Marketing adidas Winter Sports) the previous cooperation, which was mainly event-based, between adidas and our region. For the future, thanks to Arena365, the framework is also in place to expand and further develop the collaboration towards a year-round partnership.

Completed

More than seven years after the last World Cup competitor crossed the finish line in the traditionally concluding 50-kilometer cross-country race, all outstanding financial questions regarding the 52nd FIS Nordic Ski World Championships have now been resolved. On Tuesday we received the final signed agreement from Vienna between TVB, the municipality of Seefeld, WM-Sportanlagen GmbH, and the Republic of Austria. This brings a large and challenging chapter to a good end.

Spruced up

Sunshine, snowmelt, and the first flower meadows make Tyrol's high plateau look particularly pretty at the moment. To truly remove all unsightly remnants of winter, you and we came to the aid of nature last week. During the annual Clean Up Challenge, 880 kilograms of waste were collected and properly disposed of through the local depots. Thank you to all the diligent helpers!

New Job Portal

With our new digital job platform, we are now consolidating job openings in the region at one place. This simplifies the recruiting process and strengthens Tyrol's high plateau as an attractive employer community. The previously existing PDF list of job advertisements will be discontinued.
Companies can publish their job openings for free on the portal for a maximum of three months. Applicants can quickly and easily find everything they need to know and can apply directly. For more information on registration as an employer, you can find it here.

Reither Giant

In the past few weeks, the Reither Giant has been established in the village square of Reith – a café, bakery, and village shop all in one. It invites you to shop for regional products and enjoy a cozy atmosphere from Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 12 PM and on Saturday from 6:30 AM to 12 PM. Fresh bread is delivered daily by the Waldhart bakery. The Giant is a cooperative project; for €250, one can acquire a share and thus shop even outside of business hours.
More information and a personal meeting will take place next Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 AM, when the Reither Giant will be opened with live music, tastings, and a glass or two.

Time Travel

Tomorrow, Thursday, April 23rd, the Seefeld Archive invites you to a time travel into historical Seefeld at 3 PM with free admission. The film "The Shepherd's Song from Kaisertal" will be screened at the Seefeld cinema, which was mostly filmed in Tyrol's high plateau in 1956. Among other things, the Reith train station, the old parlor of the Klosterbäu hotel, the Geigenbühel, and the Seefeld church can be seen. Many residents also participated as extras. One of the then very famous leading actresses, Franziska Kinz, also lived many years in Seefeld. More information about the film can be found here.

Mitteilung des Klosterbräu-Teams über verdächtige Profile und Kontaktinformationen.

Attention

The cohesion in our region and the solidarity of our guests is currently enormous and gives everyone strength. Unfortunately, some are taking advantage of this. Currently, illegal fundraising campaigns are circulating in the name of Hotel Klosterbräu. Please do not engage with them, do not follow any of the listed accounts, and report anything suspicious to the police! The TVB and the entire region are dismayed that the damage and suffering of a family are being exploited for profit.

April 16, 2026

Solidarity

The fire at the Hotel Klosterbräu once again demonstrates how important solidarity in the region is. It was a powerful sign for us and many others to see Mayor Andrea Neuner in a firefighter's jacket and TVB vest on duty, for the hotel, for Seefeld, and for the region.
Our managing director Elias Walser was also present. The TVB was directly involved in the precautionary evacuation of the 150 guests from the Alpenlove and Post hotels and worked together with the team from WM Sportanlagen GmbH to ensure smooth emergency supplies in the WM Hall as well as further accommodation in four opened hotels on the plateau. Some of our employees were part of the emergency services, to whom they voluntarily dedicate their free time.
We would like to sincerely thank them, all the helpers, and the hotels that spontaneously welcomed the guests so well. The upcoming period will be a significant challenge, where our task will be to support our affected member. We hope that the lived solidarity of the past 48 hours will last for a long time and strengthen our region for the future.

Once new

Yesterday, the information Seefeld received a new floor covering - a modern gray color brings a breath of fresh air to the train station building - pleasant to see and easy to care for, especially during the winter when many wet boots walk on it. Additionally, the drinking fountain will also be renewed. Today we are 'rearranging'. Maximum efficiency was achieved on the short construction site. Thanks to everyone who helped out!

Sporty Presence

Even outside of our core seasons, the Seefeld region is present on both national and international competitive levels. At the end of March, the first Seefeld Winter Trail powered by Löffler, the youth biathlon international competition, and the Tyrolean Indoor Championships in tennis took place almost simultaneously. Next weekend, Austria's padel elite will gather at Casa Padel for the HEAD Elite Tour. Each of these events brings the Tyrolean high plateau visibility in both traditional and social media, as well as some guests.

Press Event Zurich

Last week was all about our Swiss guests. Janina Sauer attended the press event of the Austrian Tourism Board in Zurich and presented the High Plateau of Tyrol in the Koni cinema as part of the new ÖW campaign "The Austrian Synapse". The underlying neurological concept: the uplifting experience we offer creates new synapses, making our guests unable to forget the region. For some attendees, this has already worked; initial press reports and posts have been published.
Ahead of the event, Managing Director Elias Walser was interviewed by well-known Swiss podcasters Nadja Zimmermann and Steffi Hibder; you can listen to it here from minute 16:20.

New Eye-Catcher

Arena365 adds another highlight. The wall of the main building is now adorned with an exclusive graffiti by urban art artist Sketch. The Tyrolean artist created a spectacular image in the arena colors that connects the region, the arena, and its main sports – ski jumping, cross-country skiing, and biathlon. An artistic eye-catcher with sharp edges, soft transitions, and the unmistakable line work of crazymistersketch.

Cooperation Future

Last week, the fourth graders of the Seefeld Middle School received an intensive insight into the significance of tourism, the tasks of the TVB, and the theme of sustainability in our region. Sustainability coordinator Michaela Kraler visited the students in class; afterward, they, like in 2025, came to an open house at Arena365. The conclusion will now be a 'Design Jam' as part of the Team Plateau, where the youth will present their vision for Tyrol's high plateau of the future. More info can be found here.

Premiere successful

The Wintertrial Seefeld – powered by Löffler successfully celebrated its premiere last Saturday. Around 200 participants from eleven nations were on two courses: The Gschwandtkopf Wintertrail covered 12 kilometers and 420 meters of elevation, while the Brunschkopf Wintertrail spanned 30 kilometers and 830 meters of elevation. In the evening, about 30 runners had already completed a six-kilometer loop with 152 meters of elevation in the Möserer Tal during the Community Night Run in favor of Arche Herzensbrücken.
The event was managed by trail expert Gerhard Gstettner and the TVB. On the competition day, we were supported by the mountain rescue teams of the region, who took care of the refreshment stations and medical assistance together with the Red Cross. A total of 17 people were on duty as helpers.

Hope Giver Sports

In mid-March, the 18th International Austrian Ski Championships for Transplantees and Dialysis Patients took place in Leutasch. Despite outstanding athletic performances, the focus was not on competition, but on the joy of life. Over 70 athletes from eight nations celebrated that they have been given a new active life thanks to transplantation or life-sustaining dialysis. Sports provide them with new hope and trust in their bodies every day. The multi-day event was organized by the Austrian Transplant Sports Federation, supported by SC Leutasch (cross-country skiing and snowshoe events) and SV Oberhofen (alpine skiing) as well as local businesses. The TVB took care of the Weidach ski trail and covered it with snow again in parts.

Since summer 2023, Experience Tirol invites visitors to virtually explore our federal state using the latest technology at the Kaufhaus Tyrol in Innsbruck. A year later, the associated podcast by Felix Kozubek and Peter Margreiter was launched. Since 2025, the Seefeld region has been collaborating with the two, resulting in an EXPTPOD Special: Feeling in Alaska and quite a bit personal as well as the video format "On an adventure with Experience Tirol" featuring two regional episodes Exploration of Seefeld & Leutasch's Culture and Seefeld's Cross-Country Skiing History. They provide old and new insights and stories for the eyes and ears that inspire a desire for the region.

Part of the team

In this, their fourth year, the TeamCard of the Seefeld Region has become a real success. While there were only around 180 holders in the past, there are already about 760 this year. Of course, the winter season with its day tickets for Rosshütte and Gschwandtkopf is particularly interesting. But even in the summer months, there’s much to discover with the TeamCard: Whether swimming pools, tennis courts, or golf – there’s plenty of action. So it’s never too late for the employees on Tyrol's high plateau to become part of the team and discover its beauty in their leisure time.

Excellent enjoyment

Tyrol's high plateau stands for enjoyment on many levels. The culinary level has been awarded again in recent weeks. New at the highest level is Bertas in the Weisses Rössl in Reith, which can celebrate two Gault Millau toques in its first year. The Hotel Sacher has consistently matched this for years. The Zomm impresses in a new location with three toques. The Hotel Interalpen retains its four toques and a Michelin star.

Marketing Benefits of Film

Cine Tirol and the WKO Tirol published a study in February on the "Economic Effects of Film Promotion in Tyrol 2021 – 2024". In addition to immediate value creation, the benefits and value in location and brand communication are emphasized. Tyrol's high plateau has been the backdrop for prominent shoots in recent years: from a commercial of a French luxury brand to sports trailers for ZDF, the Dutch RTL dating show Winter vol Liefde and the cinema adaptation of Jörg Maurer's crime novel Hochsaison by W&B Television and RTL Germany, to the ORF and Netflix hit Totenfrau and the new comedy by Marco Petry Eat Pray Bark, which is set to launch on the streaming service on April 1, 2026.

Inclusive expansion

As part of our initiatives for sustainable and inclusive tourism, we are starting a new LEADER project on April 1, 2026: Within the coming year, our existing 3.6 km long and 3 meters wide ski roller track will be further developed into a barrier-free path for roller sports. The goal is to make the previously mono-functional training infrastructure accessible to new target groups through a time-controlled usage system as well as barrier-free information and guidance systems – especially for children and young people, people with disabilities, para-athletes, and other supervised sports and movement formats. More information can be found here.
This project is financially supported by the federal government, state, and European Union.

Focus Winter Hiking

During the winter season, a new project from our marketing team went online: the theme-leading platform www.winterwandern.at. Like its counterpart www.langlaufen.at, it is not just a regional page, but a comprehensive inspiration and information page on the topic. This positions us as a thematic center of competence, also by mentioning and describing other regions, making us a benchmark and reference for the subject. Moreover, the page clearly reflects our signature and conveys our values, as most of the content is produced by us and on Tyrol's high plateau.
Overall, this allows us to engage with users and future guests early on and to occupy the topic of winter hiking digitally at a superior level.

Last Friday, around 25 locals took the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of Arena365 during the Open Arena Day. The hill was visited in two groups, and at the biathlon stand, participants even got to handle the rifle themselves. The interest among the participants was high, and they were impressed by the athletic performances of the jumpers and biathletes. In a relaxed atmosphere, they later exchanged ideas with managing director Elias Walser and head of our product development Michaela Kraler about plans and ideas for the future of the arena.

Strong Performances

Thanks to the outstanding work of the event team from TVB and the Ski Club Leutasch, and the countless volunteers, the Ganghoferlauf was finally able to take place again on the original route this year. Until the end, the race officials in Moos and Unterleutasch fought with large water accumulations under the track, but they were ultimately able to successfully and professionally redirect them. Landowners and farmers assisted with the snow distribution and, like the local clubs and businesses, supported the event team. We extend our great thanks to them! Participants provided exciting competitions in both sunshine and rain. We are particularly proud of the size of the starting field of around 1,300 runners, who participated despite a competing event in Gsiesertal (South Tyrol) and without the last year's European Championship race that took place last year.

Green awarded

As in the previous year, we were once again honored at the Green Event Tirol Awards Ceremony for the 58th Ganghoferlauf and the 4th Good Vibes Festival. The two events from 2025 were consciously organized by us with sustainability in mind. Michael Simpler, who is responsible for the two events at TVB, accepted the award from Stephanie Rauscher of Green Event Tirol, Regional Councilor René Zumtobel, and Andrä Stigger, Managing Director of Climate Alliance Tirol.
Sustainable Fun Fact: The electricity for the awards ceremony was sustainably generated by the guests themselves using bicycles.

Unique

Many top athletes spent their preparation time at the recently concluded Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina with us – that's why we are especially happy about their medals and congratulate them warmly. We are particularly proud that not only the three-time local medalist Johannes Lamparter often trains in Seefeld, but also the Norwegian top stars Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo and Emil Iversen enjoyed their Olympic pre-camp with us. Klaebo crowned himself in Italy with six gold medals in six races, making him the most successful winter sports athlete of all time with now a total of eleven Olympic gold medals. Friend and training partner Emil Iversen took home his first individual Olympic medal in the final 50-kilometer race after achieving a joint relay gold. You can find beautiful pictures of their time on Tyrol's high plateau on emilivers and johanneshk.

Anniversary vacation

Last week, Olympic champion Sheila Young came to Seefeld to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Olympic Games. The American won gold, silver, and bronze in speed skating competitions in Innsbruck back then. Together with her family, she reminisced and enjoyed Tyrol's high plateau to the fullest.
She won her silver medal on February 5, 1976, the same day as her teammate Bill Koch. The cross-country skier, whose Olympic star rose between Wildmoos and Seekirchl, took Young and her husband skiing afterward. This developed into a great enthusiasm that led them to their anniversary vacation in Seefeld. You can read more about it here.

Light and Love

Since the end of January, the sky full of lights over the village square has completed our Seefeld light magic concept. For tomorrow's Valentine's Day, a glowing heart and an illuminated rocking lounger have now been added. Until March 1st, these three attractions will continue to delight all fans of romantic glitter. Then the electric lights will give way to the slowly lengthening sunlight over Tyrol's high plateau, awakening anticipation for spring and summer.
And yet, somehow we can hardly wait for the light magic to start shining again in November 2026.

Mission Gold, the Second

As reported, at the end of January, Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo prepared for the Olympic Games in Milan Cortina in Leutasch. His Mission Gold had already been crowned with success. Yesterday, the serial winner secured his first gold medal in a distance race in the 20 km skiathlon. In the coming days, he would like to add a few more. With a total of six gold medals, he now needs three more victories to be crowned the most successful Olympic cross-country skier of all time. He has gotten the speed for that, among other things, from us, as his Instagram account wonderfully illustrates.

Completion as a Starting Signal

The Seefeld region is pleased to announce the successful completion of the joint LEADER project "Removing Barriers, Seizing Opportunities" with Innsbruck Tourism – an important milestone on our journey to an even more inclusive and welcoming tourism experience. Together, we have risen to the challenge of making barriers visible and enabling people with different needs to participate genuinely in the holiday experience. The project was implemented in close cooperation with ÖZIV-Tirol - for People with Disabilities and has provided important impulses for the future with a compact practical guide. More information about barrier-free offers in the region can be found here. The next projects are already in the pipeline.

Perfect Collaboration

The 13th Nordic Combined Triple is history and once again has thrilled athletes and fans alike. Internally new were the synergies created by the TVB as the new operator of the venue Arena365. Marketing, technology, and organizing committee came from one source, which made the processes, including the 150 volunteers from the Ski Club Seefeld, even smoother. Seefeld guests benefited, as always, from the event's walkability as well as our extensive infrastructure, which made personal enjoyment of sports on the trails and hiking paths nearly unrestricted.

Media Interest

Since the beginning of the winter season, there has been lively media interest in our offerings. Not a week goes by without welcoming one or more journalists and influencers. Our strategic themes are the focus: winter hiking, family, and cross-country skiing. It's particularly nice that the media guests are international – all core markets are represented. For example, in January, the renowned journalist and author Volker Mehnert visited us for the FAZ, along with colleagues from Switzerland, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Our niche topic of vacationing with dogs is also well received, as evidenced by Sonja Stocker from WauWander with her posts and blogs.

Exchange on the Environmental Label

Last week, sustainability coordinator Michaela Kraler participated in a two-day exchange on the environmental label for tourism destinations in Austria. The focus was on re-certification and the evaluation of the criteria, which are to be adapted for 2027. In this context, destinations that already bear an environmental label will be intensively involved.
Furthermore, data collection was discussed at the meeting in Salzburg using the examples of Resy (Regional Information and Monitoring System) and T-Mona (Tourism Monitor Austria).

Olympic Round

Courtney Dauwalter is considered the grande dame of the ultra-trail running scene, having won all the major races in the ultra-long-distance scene and being awarded multiple times internationally. Last Sunday, the American had the honor of carrying the Olympic torch for part of the stage from Pordenone to Belluno. Now, the 40-year-old is visiting our region for the Nordic Combined Triple and the 1976 Olympics anniversary, testing our trails and holiday offerings together with Lumi Experiences, a provider of cross-country skiing tours. Moreover, Dauwalter knows what it's all about, as she was successful as a cross-country skier in her youth.

Exchange Winter Hiking

Last Monday we had a visit from our colleagues from the Allgäu. The focus of the specialized excursion was the topic of winter hiking in all its facets. The discussion centered around quality, preparation, safety & liability, communication & expectation management, visitor guidance, and cooperation in value creation. Of course, future topics and concerns were also addressed: How do we deal with increasingly icy paths? How do we communicate our offer without snow, or what can we offer then?

Mission Gold

As reported, many top athletes in the region are currently preparing for the Olympic Games in Milan Cortina. A very special athlete is this week in Leutasch searching for his golden form: Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo. The Norwegian is currently the most successful active cross-country skier with five Olympic gold medals and 15 world championship titles. His social media channels showcase how much he enjoys his time in Tyrol's high plateau. With around half a million followers, he is a great ambassador for us.
Other top athletes from Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the USA are also enjoying the excellent conditions. Thanks to everyone who makes this possible!

Glamorous filming location

Tyrol's high plateau is often the backdrop for successful TV productions: from The Dead Woman to Netflix comedies and the first adaptation of the cult crime novels featuring Inspector Jennerwein by Jörg Maurer. However, last week a touch of luxury swept across the plateau – a French luxury brand filmed their winter commercial with a Hollywood star at Lake Möser and Geigenbühel. Everything is top secret, of course! We are certainly pleased that more and more productions are discovering our beautiful region and giving it a certain presence.

Training Mecca Arena365

Not only is the Nordic Combined Triple approaching, but the Olympic Games in Milan Cortina 2026 are also casting their shadow ahead. Many athletes are already in the intensive preparation phase for THE major event of the winter. Currently, the Nordic professionals and biathletes are drawn to Tyrol's high plateau. The Arena365 is buzzing with Olympic and World Championship medalists. Our team at the arena and from the construction site ensures perfect training conditions. Lovingly and professionally hosted, the established and future stars are taken care of by our establishments! So, for the 50th anniversary of the Olympic Games in 1976, a bit of current Olympic flair is also returning to Seefeld.

Hiking with and without snow

Last Thursday, Austria's hiking villages invited to the annual Impulse Day, this time in Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser. The topic was deliberately "Hiking in Winter". Unlike the term winter hiking, this includes winter hiking with and without snow. How can we succeed in marketing this new form and successfully shift the image from deep snow-covered hiking trails to that of current reality? The less snow there is, the more emotions, experiences, the special winter light, and the entire service chain along the way must come into focus. For Tyrol's high plateau, Janina Sauer took home many exciting insights.

Exactly one year before the start of the 21st Winter Deaflympics 2027 in Innsbruck and Seefeld, the Delegates of the Chef de Mission traveled to Tyrol's high plateau last week. Managing Director Elias Walser was able to present our sports facilities freshly snow-covered and in perfect condition. "The significance of the Winter Deaflympics and the great interest from athletes around the world impresses us as a winter sports destination," said Walser during the visit and is already looking forward to this inclusive and very special sporting event. Around 850 athletes and 550 support staff from all over the world are expected in Innsbruck and Seefeld from January 15 to 24, 2027.

An important point was the vote on the increase of the local tax to € 5.00 (for all guests subject to overnight fees arriving from 01.05.2026). The increase received a significant majority in all three voting groups. Overall, it was supported with 84 % majority.

This establishes a solid foundation for the projects and investments presented. These will be further developed in the coming months and communicated continuously on PlateauIntern.

Best Practice – Mobility

At the end of November, the Seefeld region in Innsbruck was showcased at the event "Shaping Sustainable Tourism Mobility in the Alpine Region" organized by the Alpine Convention. Michaela Kraler presented our 365-Day Mobility Concept as a best practice in the field of sustainable mobility. The Alpine Convention was signed in 1995: it commits the EU and the eight countries through which the Alps extend to sustainable development and the protection of this important, cross-border mountain region.

The Future of Europe

From December 4 to 6, many eyes in Europe were focused on Tirol's high plateau. At the 17th European Media Summit, international figures from media, politics, business, science, and culture discussed the role of Europe in the present and future. The event was opened by Armin Wolf and US media expert Jeff Jarvis. Contributions followed from among others Matthias Sutter (Director at the Max Planck Institute Bonn), Jan Bayer (Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Axel Springer SE), Marina Litvinenko (wife of the murdered Putin critic Alexander Litvinenko in 2006), Josef Aschbacher (Director General of ESA), as well as author Micheal Köhlmeier and philosopher Konrad Paul Liessmann. Videos of the event are available online.

Light for the Wetland

On December 3rd, the Plateau Pioneers once again brought more light to the wetland behind the Leutasch Music Pavilion. Under ideal nature conservation conditions - frozen ground and a thin layer of snow - they cleared an area previously coordinated with the forest supervisor of all bushes and trees. In the medium term, this is expected to allow for recovery and revitalization of the wet vegetation, as can be clearly seen in old orthophotos. This three-year-long nature conservation project is accompanied by biodiversity expert Hermann Sonntag.

The project is supported by funds from the federal government, state, and European Union.

Future Cooperation

Our children are our future, which is why they should also shape our plans and strategies. Against this backdrop, the TVB and the Seefeld Middle School are embarking on a premiere and will work more intensively together starting this school year. Managing Director Elias Walser and Sustainability Coordinator Michaela Kraler presented the importance of tourism, the TVB, and our sustainability strategy at the beginning of November during the teachers' conference. Kraler is now conducting a session on "TVB & Sustainability" in all 4th grade classes and will organize an open house at the TVB in March. Additionally, as part of the Team Plateau, an exchange with the student parliament is planned to actively involve the "next generation".

This year, it comes from the community's own stock and was taken from in front of the Technical Center. Forest keeper Rudi Saurwein always keeps an eye out for the perfect tree throughout the year.
Tomorrow, the Seefeld light magic starts, making the pedestrian zone sparkle from the Kurpark over the Pfarrhügel to the sports and congress center, putting us all in an Advent mood.

Certified Wheelchair Hikes

Tyrol's high plateau has taken another step towards inclusive tourism: Seven hiking trails in the region have been certified as "wheelchair-friendly" by the state of Tyrol and are marked on-site with the corresponding wheelchair icon. The icon also distinguishes between the difficulty levels of the trails - blue stands for easy, red for medium, and black for hard. Three trails were certified in both Seefeld and Leutasch, and one in Scharnitz.
You can find the hikes collected here. The page is currently still under construction and will receive improvements and expansions in the coming weeks.

Mobility knowledge squared

This week, the Tyrolean and Austrian Tourism Mobility Day took place in Kufstein. The big question at both events was, "How can we encourage our guests to switch to public transport?" Lectures, panel discussions, best-practice examples, and short excursions inspired a total of 290 participants and actively engaged them. While reliable public transport and optimal information flow positively influence the rational decision, guests must also be emotionally engaged with innovative incentives. Michaela Kraler and Daniela Hirschbichler-Watscher certainly returned with many exciting ideas.

Press visit to mountain and valley

Last weekend, as part of an international press trip for the 20th anniversary of the Adlerweg, journalists from Germany, Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic visited us. The planned route had to be changed at short notice. For the region, the Hotel Schönegg and the Tiroler Weinstube spontaneously stepped in and impressed the guests. In addition to Seefeld as a location, the media representatives also got to know the Karwendelhöhenweg and its impressive views of our region on the replacement stage via the Nördlinger Hütte and the Freiungen to the Solsteinhaus.

Inclusion – very practical

As part of the project Inclusive Tourism, a workshop was held last week with two experts from ÖZIV, the advocacy group for people with disabilities, two affected individuals, several Plateau businesses, and rental coach Sonja Seelos, Michaela Kraler, and intern Magdalena Neuner from the TVB. The theoretical part presented inclusive tourism itself, the concept of the barrier-free service chain, as well as the practical guide for accessibility. This was followed by a tour of the Hotel Klosterbräu, the host of the workshop, where, together with the affected individuals – once blindfolded and once sitting in a wheelchair – many simple measures were practically demonstrated that can be implemented quickly and easily.

This project was supported by funds from the federal government, the state, and the European Union.

Hiking Quality Seal – Preliminary Inspection in Leutasch

In mid-September, the circular hike Wettersteinhütte, Wangalm & Hämmermoosalm and the village circular hike Weidachsee – Leutascher Ache were thoroughly examined. With these two trails, the region is applying to Austria's Hiking Villages for two more hiking quality seals and for the certification of Leutasch as a hiking village. Günther Polanz, an expert on hiking quality seals, inspected their condition and signage together with our quality and safety manager, Josef Faltejsek.
Both hiking trails already meet many requirements of the official criteria catalog for certification and make the desired "magic of walking" in the beauty of our landscape experienceable.

Detailed Insights

On Wednesday, the TVB invited community representatives, supervisory board members, and interested entrepreneurs from the plateau to take a closer look at our work. For one day, questions were pursued about how the TVB budget is used and what added value the TVB staff creates for the region. This included visits to the Technical Center Seefeld, the construction yard, and the headquarters in Leutasch, as well as some important infrastructure points, from the peace bell to the new forest trail to the ghost canyon, and the hidden champion Bangerpark. The participants were consistently impressed and admitted that they had learned a lot of new things about our extensive activities.

Impressive Art

Until September 28, KiS will showcase the photographs of PLATON in the old fire station. At the end of August, he was there in person and, together with Rafael Jablonka and Austrian photographer, curator, and gallery owner Peter Coeln, provided exciting insights into his work. The photographs displayed in Seefeld come from Paros, PLATON's Greek homeland. His portraits of many Hollywood stars and more than 130 politicians, from Obama to Putin, are world-famous. In 2007, he received the first prize in the World Press Photo Contest.

Light for Biodiversity

Last week, the Plateau Pioneers brought light into the reed thicket behind the Leutasch Music Pavilion as part of a three-year nature conservation project. Reed is fundamentally an important component in wetlands, but here it began to displace other plant species. Therefore, under the professional guidance of nature conservation and biodiversity experts Hermann Sonntag, areas on both sides of the path were cleared again. This created new water surfaces and allowed more light to reach the surrounding soil. The first "guests" after the work was done were numerous dragonflies that immediately utilized the new egg-laying sites.

This project was supported by funds from the federal government, state, and the European Union.

Despite the rainy weather, 1000m2 of embankment areas were sown on the newly created forest trail last Friday. In addition to deputy board member Katrin Moser, Elias Walser, Joachim Pölzl, and Michaela Kraler from the TVB, Eva Hengsberger from the Tirol Environmental Ombudsman also helped along with some locals. The wildflower seeds that were sown were harvested in August 2024 from a species-rich meadow of the Wirtseppelerhof, which featured 70 different plant species, and were properly dried and stored by the Environmental Ombudsman. In spring 2026, they will bloom as a new, valuable piece of native biodiversity.

At the networking meeting of the Tyrolean sustainability coordinators in Reutte, the focus yesterday was on the topic of "Inclusion in Tourism". Michaela Kraler presented the LEADER project "Inclusive Tourism in the Seefeld and Innsbruck Regions". A primary objective of the project is to create a practical guide for accommodation providers. This guide aims to facilitate the implementation of inclusive measures within their businesses. In the morning, there were compelling presentations, including contributions from the State of Tyrol and the Chairman of ÖZIV Tirol. In the afternoon, an excursion to Schlosskopf followed, where the completely barrier-free circular path was introduced.

With a total of around 11,500 views on the day of the event and already several thousand afterwards, we can look back proudly on the project. As expected, the conditions presented us with some challenges. Above all, the moisture and fog had a negative impact on satellite connections and the flying capabilities of the drones. Preserving Meadow Splendor

The Leutasch flower meadows are considered unique in many ways, and their biodiversity deserves active protection. Therefore, the TVB is starting a social action in collaboration with the Tyrolean Environmental Department on the upcoming Friday, September 5. After the completed work on the new forest trail (B14), flower seeds harvested in Leutaschtal from the Wirtseppelerhof will be sown there, thus renaturing and preserving approximately 1000m2 of flower meadows. We look forward to dedicated helpers. The meeting point is at the Leutasch Municipal Office at 2:00 PM.

FAM trips for new markets

FAM trips are journeys where, among others, tour operators get to know a region and its particularities and familiarize themselves with it; from the English 'familiarize'. Yesterday, we hosted renowned Chinese tour operators who visited the high plateau of Tyrol as part of such a trip. The focus was on the Leutascher Geisterklamm, the pedestrian zone in Seefeld, and a band concert.

At the beginning of September, we welcome another FAM trip from Jeddah, the most important port city of Saudi Arabia. Both markets show increased interest in Tyrol and the Seefeld region as a travel destination.

Last week, Tirol's high plateau received royal visits not once, but twice. It all started on Tuesday with the "Royals" from Real Madrid, who took a little break at the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol before their friendly match against WSG Tirol. A real king, however, stayed in the Seefeld region for several days. Abdullah II bin al-Hussein, King of Jordan, was at the Krumers Alpin Resort. The ruler, regarded as a mediator for peace, spent his time with friends, among other activities, riding motorcycles.

The Toni-Gaugg High Trail is ready again!

When the weather in August becomes more stable, very experienced mountaineers can enjoy a "new" high trail in our region. The Toni-Gaugg Trail between Pleisenhütte and Karwendelhaus has been officially reopened this summer after extensive renovations last year. Alpine experience, sure-footedness, a head for heights, and good planning remain prerequisites for this alpine adventure, even with the new cable protection systems and markings. Due to the duration (8 hours of pure walking time) and the long ascent (2.5 hours) and descent (5 hours), we also recommend planning for two overnight stays at Pleisenhütte and Karwendelhaus. The tour starts at the junction of the Connection Tour Seefeld – Scharnitz.
According to the MTB Model Tyrol 2.0, the state of Tyrol takes out a subsidiary trail maintenance and operational liability insurance and livestock owner liability insurance for all official mountain bike routes, which protects all trail holders, property owners, and managers in case of damage. This ensures a safe cycling experience for all involved.

Occupancy forecasts for popular destinations

In recent months, a digital forecasting model has been developed, based on mobile phone, weather, and holiday calendar data. The aim is to better manage visitor flows while simultaneously harmonizing nature, experience quality, and regional value creation. Daily updated occupancy forecasts for the most popular destinations in the region now provide valuable guidance. The occupancy is clearly represented by a colored pie chart divided into: low / moderate / well visited. The forecasts are available starting now, among others on our homepage www.seefeld.com, on Seefeld Today as well as on the individual sub-pages of the respective destinations. For an overall view of all occupancy forecasts go here.

Joint nature conservation project of the Plateau Pioneers

Last week, the Plateau Pioneers undertook their first joint nature conservation project in the Hinterautal. The Karwendel Nature Park once again acted as a pioneer and partner. After a theoretical introduction, the pioneers helped clear the areas of the Kastenalm. The active work against shrub encroachment by the dominant and rapidly growing species, such as spruces and dwarf pines, makes a valuable contribution to the preservation of our alpine cultural landscape and its pronounced biodiversity.

This project was supported by funds from the Federation, the State, and the European Union.

Disappointment over vandalism

Three weeks ago, we set up our new stamping stations. They were created over a year by our entire team - from graphics to marketing, with great attention to detail from our construction yard - to enhance our summer theme of hiking. Unfortunately, just 14 days later, we experienced the first cases of vandalism. One station was knocked down, and several others – including those at Seekirchl, Möserer See, Seefelder Joch, and Geisterklamm – were defaced with stamp ink. We are very disappointed that these small, yet valuable infrastructure elements, which bring joy to many visitors, are not appreciated and respected by all. All incidents will be reported, and selected stations will henceforth be monitored with wildlife cameras.

New Cultural Hiking Trail in Reith

For about 20 years, there has been the Cultural Hiking Trail in Reith. This spring it was renovated and expanded. It now includes 14 stations about the history and culture of the charming mountain village and leads from Reith over Leithen and Auland. Additionally, it has been complemented with an interactive puzzle for young and old alike. The redesign was preceded by discussions between the municipality and the local tourism association in 2024, during which texts and stations were revised. Our graphic team designed the new signs, and the municipal construction yard took care of the posts and installation.

Of around 3,000 wild flowering and fern species, currently one in five species is threatened, and every second one is affected by a decline. In contrast, the Biodiversity Fund of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Tyrolean Environmental Advocate are working with so-called citizen biotopes in six Tyrolean regions. Leutasch is also involved. At the end of May, endangered plants were planted at the Church of St. Magdalena and at MPreis, and the mother garden was sown at the Culture House Ganghofermuseum. Little effort, great impact

The 100,000 Lights Path was implemented relatively quickly last winter, with little effort, to complement the lighting concept in the pedestrian zone and offer a small, yet exquisite and romantic winter hiking experience close to the town center. Its public impact was very good: Tirol.at described it several times as the most atmospheric winter walk, and on Bergfex we achieved our highest clicks during the one-week promotional phase from December 23 to December 29, 2024, and the path was also very positively received by tour operators.
The planning for the upcoming winter season is already underway. The tour has been created on Komoot and will be purposefully communicated as a highlight to the press at the start of winter.

Cross-Country Skiing at World-Class Level

Tyrol's high plateau once again demonstrated its qualities as a cross-country skiing region and organizer of international competitions last weekend. With only one week of preparation, the Seefeld Sports Arena spontaneously stepped in as the venue for the German Championships in team sprint, long-distance mass start, and club relay. About 300 participants, including the German World Cup team with World Championship and Olympic medalists Laura Gimmler and Katharina Hennig, competed in good races despite the most adverse conditions (rain and warmth). Competition director Benedikt Ertl (SC Partenkirchen) was thrilled: "Florian Kotlaba, Kari Kraus, and above all Wolfgang Kratzer with his track team from TVB did an incredible job."
In line with this, the audience voting from Schneehoehen.de named the region as the second best cross-country skiing area.

In the medium term, our members will also benefit from this, especially when it comes to documents for important bank discussions or investment concepts.
