Things to see in summer

A summer in Scharnitz could hardly be more enjoyable because visitors will find welcome refreshments everywhere. After hiking and biking, cool the limbs at the Kneipp facility at the Kreidegraben or get right into the water at the Obere Isar canoe trail. Let yourself be overwhelmed by the roaring white water in the Gleirschklamm gorge, enjoy the summit tours on the Karwendel Höhenweg trail or just admire the sunset at the Adlerkanzel vantage point. On the other hand, there is no need for a mountain tour to visit the ruins of the alpine fortress Porta Claudia on the border with Bavaria, you can follow the tracks of the timber drift in the Karwendel at the Holzerhütte museum and at the Länd nature adventure playground, or you can trace the countless village stories at the small Café Länd not far from the information centre.
