Sweet, summery, seasonal: Moosberry dumplings
You must not miss out on moosberries during the Tyrolean summer! These small blue berries – also known as blueberries – are currently growing everywhere here. They are not only the perfect boost during a hike, but you can also easily make delicious treats from them.
"Cranberry Dumplings
We have a recipe that brings back sweet childhood memories for you: Cranberry Dumplings! Patrick Trois from the Dorfkrug in Mösern shares his "child's play" instructions.

Ingredients (1 – 2 servings):
For the blueberry dumplings, you only need a few ingredients:
- 500g blueberries
- 250g flour
- 250ml milk
- 2 eggs
- salt
- clarified butter or butter for frying
- powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar
For the "topping":
- powdered sugar
- cinnamon sugar
- optional: vanilla ice cream
Preparation:
Mix the flour, about 1/4 liter of milk, two eggs, and a pinch of salt. Stir the mixture into a rather creamy batter, then fold in 1-2 handfuls of bilberries using a fork. In a hot pan, let the clarified butter get hot and drop spoonfuls of the berry batter into the pan. They spread out a bit, so don't place them too close together in the pan. Bake the dumplings lightly on each side and remove them from the pan. Afterwards, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar and enjoy. Hmm, summer tastes sooo good!

Tip: Those who love berries can of course try this recipe with other berries – for example raspberries, currants, and so on!
