Winter in Tyrol's high plateau
6 reasons why you must go cross-country skiing in Seefeld this winter!
1 Cross-country skiing paradise + 6 good reasons = lots of goosebumps moments. From the new high-altitude trail to training with the world elite, to the legendary Ganghoferlauf: Seefeld brings together everything that cross-country skiers love. Why should you set your tracks here this winter? Here are the top 6 reasons.
1. Off to new heights
This has been worked on all year and finally it's here: The new high-altitude ski trail Leutasch-Wildmoos! This unique route takes you through beautiful forests and brings to life parts of the Olympic track from back then. It is an absolute highlight for experienced cross-country skiers and additionally offers a free lift access with the Katzenkopf lift.
2. Gold Standard
Gliding side by side with the best in the world on the ski trail. Around Triple and Olympics, the winter sports elite uses Seefeld as a base camp. World champions, Olympic winners, and those who want to become one come here for the final touch. This means that for athletes with ambitions, there are no better training conditions than here.
3. A phenomenon – but for everyone
He is the biggest, he is the oldest, he is the most popular! In summary, he is a phenomenon. The Ganghoferlauf in Leutasch captivates the world of cross-country skiing at the end of each winter season. From the 3-year-old making his first sliding attempts to the seasoned pro, they all join in. In the new Fun Category, the headband can quickly turn into a unicorn. It is a cross-country ski event like no other.
4. A day without stress – even with kids
On 245 kilometers of trails, one can always find peace up here – even with the kids in tow. The magic formula is "Ski-Hike-Eat-Repeat". Since the winter hiking paths and trails are usually very close to each other, one parent can walk through the forests with the children while the other takes a few relaxed laps. Afterwards, you meet together at the hut and switch roles. A perfect recipe!

5. High enjoyment, even off the slopes
After the swings comes the swaying. Namely, the "swaying in the deck chair after sports with a hot chocolate." Right by the ski trails, there are rustic huts with dreamy sun terraces throughout the region. This is simply part of a successful day on the trail.

6. Snow – but safe
Until well into December, Frau Holle has been quite reluctant to grant requests this year. However, the little bit of snow that fell received great support in Seefeld and Leutasch. The expanded snowmaking system and the safely stored snow from the previous year ensured enjoyable cross-country skiing even with a lack of snow.
