Winter hikes that should be experienced in every village

Five villages, five winter hikes

Those who really want to get to know the Seefeld region should put on hiking boots in each village at least once during winter and set off on their way. Winter hiking in Tyrol's high plateau has many faces – and each one is worth experiencing. Five villages, five paths – each with its very own character, its tranquility, its views. Sometimes calm and contemplative, sometimes open and expansive. Anyone who has walked all five winter routes has truly felt winter in the Seefeld region – just as it can only be experienced up here.

1. Seefeld: Wildsee, Pfarrhügel & Seekirchl

A must for every winter visitor to Tyrol's high plateau: This circular hike takes you to the most beautiful places in Seefeld. The trail starts at the idyllic Wildsee, continues to the scenic Pfarrhügel and ends at the iconic Seekirchl – accompanied by the atmospheric setting of the festively illuminated pedestrian zone. A short but impressive loop that makes you feel the tranquility and beauty of winter in Seefeld.

2. Leutasch: Weidach Lake & Leutascher Ache

This atmospheric winter round leads through the snowy Leutasch high valley and connects water, forest, and enjoyment moments at the foot of the Wetterstein mountains. Starting from the music pavilion in Weidach, the first stop is the idyllic Weidachsee, where the serene winter atmosphere can be enjoyed – perhaps even while ice fishing. The path then continues through the winter forest and along the Leutascher Ache river back downstream to the starting point.

3. Mösern: Peace Bell

The contemplative Peace Hiking Trail leads over seven spiritual stations around the Möserer Lake to the imposing Peace Bell. Along the way, there is a more than 300-year-old mountain farm with a local museum, the small Gföll Chapel, and the scenic Albrecht-Dürer Trail. Especially atmospheric is the section by the Möserer Lake, where the winter tranquility is reflected in the clear water. The crowning finale is the Peace Bell, which dominates over the Inn Valley and rings impressively every day at 5 PM.
