The perfect family combo!

Tour tips: Ski + Hike + Eat + Repeat

In our "Ski + Hike + Eat + Repeat" post, we explained how you can think about cross-country skiing in a "different" way: while one parent goes winter hiking with the kids, the other goes cross-country skiing. You meet up for a break right by the trail and then switch. Sounds like your kind of thing? Then try one of these "Ski + Hike + Eat + Repeat" tour suggestions:

1. From Weidach to Platzl for snack time!

Starting point: Parking lot P21 Sports field Leutasch

Directions:
Cross-country skiing: A6 - Alpenbad (can be extended by the A5 - Obern in Moos)
Winter hiking: W10 - Winter hike through Leutaschtal/ Route number 5 – cross Platzl street to reach the refreshment stop

Difficulty: easy

Highlights: River path of Leutascher Ache for winter hiking, wonderful view of the Hohe Munde, horses at the stud farm behind the refreshment stop

Refreshment option: J'auszeit

2. Into the "Alley" to Poli's Cabin

Starting point: Parking lot P21 Sports Field Leutasch

Directions:
Cross-country skiing: A7 - Gasse (can be expanded by A9 - Unterleutasch and A8 - Lehner)
Winter hiking: W17 - Winter circular hike on the meadow path/ Path number 9 – direct path from the parking lot
or W10 - Winter hike through the Leutaschtal/ Path number 5 along the Ache – connecting path to Polis Hut in Gasse

Difficulty: easy

Highlights: Shore path of the Leutascher Ache for winter hiking, to warm up afterwards, head to the Alpenbad

Refreshment option: Poli's Hut

3. At the Seekirchl

Starting Point: Underground parking Olympiabad P12, parking lot Möserer Straße P13, parking lot WM Hall P14 or parking lot Arena365 P15.

Directions:
Cross-Country Skiing: A1 - Seekirchl (can be extended by B1 - Mösern or C1 - WM-Loipe 2019)
Winter Hiking: W29 - Winter Round Hike in the Möserer Valley/ Path number 4

Difficulty: easy

Highlights:
Many different activities around Seekirchl possible for children (toboggan hill Seefeld, ice skating at Olympiabad, practice lifts at Sportalm - here you can find the complete offer).
Instead of one larger cross-country round, you do several smaller ones, which creates even more spontaneity and recurring interaction with the family.
To warm up, it goes afterwards to Olympiabad.

4. Off to Wildmoos

Starting Point: Wildmoosalm Bus Stop – Ascend with the Wildmoos bus (operational from December to March)

Directions:
Cross-country skiing: A3 - Torfstich + B3 - Wildmoos Lake // for the fit: C11 - Lottensee (following B3 - Wildmoos Lake)
Winter hiking: Sections of the W18 - Winter Hike Schlagweg - Rauthgatter - Wildmoos/ Path Number 3
or W19 - Winter Hike Wildmoosalm - Fludertal/ Path Number 3 (to and from Wildmoosalm)

Difficulty: Cross-country skiing easy (A3) / medium (B3) / difficult (C1) // Winter hiking easy

Highlights: Unbeatable 360-degree view of the surrounding mountain landscape

Refreshment Option: Wildmoosalm

5. For Fitte - Plaikrunde

Starting point: Parking lot P12 Klamm (Private) in Leutasch

Directions:
Cross-country skiing: C9 - Plaik
Winter hiking: W17 - Winter circular hike on the meadow path/ Route number 33 – Length to choose yourself

Difficulty: Cross-country skiing difficult // Winter hiking easy

Highlights: Orange larch trees in early winter including view of the Hohe Munde

Refreshment options: Jausenalm at Lärchenhang

6. At the foot of the Hohen Munde

Starting point: Parking lot P11 Moos Rödlach

Directions:
Cross-country skiing: A5 - Obern (can be extended in the direction of Unterleutasch via A6 - Alpenbad or for the athletic into the Muggenmoos via B4 - Skatingzentrum & C10 - Mundeknie
Winter hiking: W18 Winter hike Schlagweg - Rauthgatter - Wildmoos // Path number 3

Difficulty: Cross-country skiing easy // Winter hiking moderate

Highlights: at the foot of the Hohe Munde, very sunny, view of the Wetterstein mountain range

Refreshment options: aHorn at Zottlhof

7. High Up – the new high-altitude trail

Starting point: Parking lot P15 Music Pavilion – from here, walk to the Katzenkopf valley station

Directions:
Cross-country skiing: Ascent with the Katzenkopf lift (free with equipment) – access to B15 - High Altitude Trail Leutasch-Wildmoos
Winter hiking:
- Ascent with the Katzenkopf lift – access to W21 - Winter circular hike Fludertal - Katzenkopf/ Path number 49 – choose your own distance
- Sporty alternative: On foot with the sled - Sledding run Katzenkopfhütte

Difficulty: medium

Highlights: Sledding run – for those who crave a bit of action to get back down from the Katzenkopf to the valley, the sledding run is the way to go!

Refreshment option: Katzenkopfhütte
