Seefeld and football: for real high performance

The Region Seefeld is known worldwide for its excellent training conditions for Nordic sports. But the region can do much more than that: athletes also find the best conditions here in summer. Like the soccer players, for example. Where in winter still the world champions ran over the trails, now the world's best kickers train. They have many good reasons for a summer training camp in Seefeld. The German and Austrian soccer federations are well aware of this: in the summer of 2021, the German national soccer team will hold its training camp in the region and the Austrian national team will set up its base camp here during the EURO.

Preparation at a really high level

Really perfectly prepared: The German national soccer team is coming to the European Championship training camp in the Seefeld region! After the UEFA EURO 2020 was postponed for a year, it is now certain that the German national soccer team will hold its training camp in Seefeld. Only a few days later, the Austrian national soccer team will set up their base camp with us. Because at 1,200 meters, they will not only find the best conditions for perfect preparation for a victorious Euro 2021, but also plenty of nature for mental relaxation. We are very pleased and wish the DFB and ÖFB successful stays in the region!

Perfect location for perfect training results

Play at the highest level - this is more than just a saying in Seefeld. Because the plateau of the region lies at 1,200 m and convinces with its ideal altitude. The soccer fields in Seefeld, Scharnitz and Leutasch are nestled in the impressive mountains of the Karwendel and Wetterstein ranges. In the tranquility of nature, athletes find their focus and can concentrate on the upcoming seasons. For optimal regeneration after training, the numerous wellness facilities in the region provide. Not without reason is the region the one with the highest density of wellness establishments in the Alpine region.Another advantage: Thanks to the proximity to Germany, the journey is particularly short and relaxed. From all four directions, you can reach the Seefeld region quickly and easily by car, train or bus.

Built for the future

Already three times - 1964, 1976 and 2012 (Youth Games) - Seefeld was the venue of the Olympic Games. In 2019, another major Nordic event and highlight took place: The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2019. In the course of the World Championships, the infrastructure in Seefeld was expanded. But one did not only build for the winter, but thought long-term and further. Thus, the summer facilities also benefit from the investments. The Seefeld Sports Arena is thus used sustainably and the region is the top location for top sports at any time of year. The soccer fields in Seefeld are in top condition and allow games and training on perfectly maintained natural grass on the two soccer fields and the small playing field. With the construction of the new bypass, the soccer field in Scharnitz was also rebuilt and now offers a larger area and a new clubhouse.

In Seefeld there are 2 soccer fields and an additional small field. They are all located in the impressive nature of the region. Peace and relaxation included.

Training camps: professional teams on the plateau

Many well-known soccer teams have known for years that Seefeld is the perfect region for a training camp. For example, RB Leipzig, whose team prepared for the upcoming season in Seefeld again in 2019. Dynamo Kiev, Manchester City, Galatasaray and many more professional teams have also already fine-tuned their training in Seefeld. The Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) has also come to the region several times. Amateur teams also like to use the region for a training camp.

Euro 2020: DFB training camp and ÖFB base camp in Seefeld and Mösern

Real relaxation in Seefeld for real excitement at the EURO! The German national soccer team is holding its training camp in Seefeld from the end of May to the beginning of June. While the German kickers have chosen the region as the ideal place to prepare, the Austrian Football Federation will set up its base camp here during the European Championship: from June 2021, the ÖFB will pitch its tents in Seefeld and Mösern. Like their German rivals, the ÖFB team's soccer players will stay at the Hotel Nidum and complete their training sessions on the natural grass pitches in Seefeld.ÖFB team boss Franco Fonda is already looking forward to the intensive training period in Seefeld: "We have found a very good mix of locations and hotels to train and focus optimally. For me, short distances both to the training grounds and to the airport were particularly important criteria. In addition, the players should have the opportunity to clear their heads. We opted for an all-Austrian solution because, on the one hand, we want to be close to our fans and, on the other, we want to take advantage of the excellent conditions at home to fully recharge our batteries during this important phase."
