Golfing in the heart of the Alps
Fairways with Views: Why Seefeld captivates golfers
Could I describe in words how wonderful the golfing experience in the Seefeld region is? Probably. Would it be better, and above all more credible, to let our community speak for itself? Definitely. That's why we're doing just that!
In this blog, we take a look at comments and, above all, pictures from golfers, bloggers and visitors. There are impressions of the game among larch forests, alpine huts and panoramic views. It's authentic, personal and conveys a great deal of love for the game.
1. Maggy and Uli from @puttsnpenalties
Maggy and Uli from ‘puttsnpenalties’ spent a few days in Seefeld and explored both golf courses on the plateau. They were particularly struck by two words: ‘wild and beautiful.’
’We played two courses: first, the Seefeld-Reith Golf Club, just a few steps away from the town and our hotel – the Hotel Bergland. Then we went to the Seefeld-Wildmoos Golf Club, one of Austria's leading golf courses. And to be honest, we were surprised! Despite the altitude of almost 1,300 metres, the fairways and greens were in absolutely top condition (note to self: always treat greenkeepers like royalty – they work wonders).’
I couldn't agree more. I can also confirm that the plateau (even away from the square) is really pleasant in summer: ‘Just when it was getting really hot in the city, we enjoyed the pleasant temperatures up here on the high plateau in the middle of Tyrol all the more...and: we just can't get enough of this view.’
2. Diana from @birdie_diana
Diana raves about the sun on the high plateau. The south-facing location makes spending the day on the square a real pleasure. ‘The mountains, the sun and good company made this day unforgettable!’
‘These golfing moments in Tyrol always remind me how beautiful our world is.’ These words reflect the following images quite well. There's not much more to say.
3. Patrick Psiuk from @patrickpsiuk
Patrick prefers to let pictures speak for themselves, and we have absolutely no problem with that:
4. Professional athletes
Professional athletes such as Stefan Kraft, Johannes Lamparter and Michael Hayböck also enjoy combining a round of golf with wellness. They have found this combination at the Hotel Klosterbräu, for example.
5. Michael Mastarciyan, alias @theskiwriter
Michael just went into raptures. On his channel, but especially in his article for The Snow Magazine, he paints his golfing experience in the most colourful terms.
