Content Creator Event
That was the Wandering Summer 2025
Last summer we had a special guest: One of the winning teams of the Wandering Summer 2025, a content creator event from Austria's Hiking Villages, explored our region – and experienced quite a lot! Between peak moments, cozy hut stops, and very personal favorite spots, they gathered many impressions. Now Laura and Alena share their best tips and experiences with you:
Fire sky above the Karwendel
At two o'clock in the morning, we started under the glow of our headlamps from Seefeld towards the Reither Spitze. In front of us lay about 1,300 meters of elevation. The conditions overnight were not easy. At times it rained, and the path was wet. However, since the conditions were still good and the rain was fortunately very light, we were able to continue the tour without danger. But be careful, especially on such tours the following applies: weather check, good planning, plenty of experience in mountainous terrain, and assessing one’s own abilities are crucial. Inexperienced and less experienced hikers should definitely turn back in such situations or attempt the tour under better conditions! Upon reaching the summit, we experienced an extraordinary natural spectacle. While it was raining in the surrounding mountains, we stayed dry. The rising sun created an intense play of colors over the Karwendel – deep red clouds, golden rays of light, a dramatic backdrop. We descended to the Nördlinger Hütte for breakfast, where we found shelter from the approaching wind and rain. After that, it was only about 200 meters of elevation down to the Härmelekopf cable car, which comfortably took us back to the valley.

⛰️ Approximately 8.5 kilometers, 1,300 meters of elevation gain
🥾 Sure-footedness and good fitness are required

Through the wild Gleirschklamm to the Möslalm
Set out early and immediately dive into the impressive Gleirschklamm. The narrow path winds directly along the water – over rocks, bridges, and roots. Crystal clear water, steep rock walls, and small waterfalls accompany the trail, making it a true nature experience. Away from the hustle and bustle, you reach the Möslalm after about 10 minutes, idyllically situated with a view of the massive Karwendel mountain range. The rustic hut invites you to enjoy a cozy break. The way back goes over forest roads and alpine landscapes. It is a very varied round trip for all those who appreciate nature and peace.

🔁 Circular tour starting from Scharnitz: approx. 20 km, 500 m elevation gain, 6–7 hours, good fitness and sure-footedness recommended
Turquoise meets abyss in the Leutascher Ghost Gorge
A short but impressive tour takes you through the Leutascher Geisterklamm, but don't worry, we didn't see any ghosts. Instead, there is turquoise water rushing through narrow pools far below. The suspension bridges, which cross the gorge at heights of up to 75 meters, offer breathtaking views into the depths. The combination of water, rock, and the scenery makes the hike a true experience. In bad weather and rain, the tour is particularly atmospheric.

🔁 Circular trail of about 4 km, ideal for short hikes or rainy days
