Content Creator Event
That was the Hiking Summer 2025
Last summer, we had some very special visitors: one of the winning teams of the Hiking Summer 2025, a content creator event by Österreichs Wanderdörfer, explored our region — and experienced quite a lot along the way! Between summit moments, cozy hut stops, and their very own favorite spots, they gathered plenty of unforgettable impressions. Now, Laura and Alena are sharing their best tips and experiences with you:
A Fiery Sky Over the Karwendel
At two o’clock in the morning, we set off from Seefeld towards the Reither Spitze, guided by the light of our headlamps. Ahead of us lay roughly 1,300 meters of elevation gain. Conditions during the night were challenging: at times it rained, and the trail was damp. Fortunately, the rain remained light, and overall conditions were stable enough to continue the tour safely.
⚠️ Important: For tours like this, weather checks, careful planning, alpine experience, and honest self-assessment are essential. Inexperienced or less confident hikers should definitely turn back or attempt such tours only in better conditions!
Reaching the summit, we witnessed a spectacular natural phenomenon. While it was raining on the surrounding mountains, it stayed dry where we were. As the sun rose, it painted a breathtaking scene across the Karwendel: deep red clouds, golden rays of light, a dramatic backdrop. For breakfast, we descended to the Nördlinger Hütte, where we found shelter from the rising wind and rain. From there, it was just another 200 meters of descent to the Härmelekopf cable car, which carried us comfortably back down to the valley.

Through the Wild Gleirsch Gorge to Möslalm
We set off early and headed straight into the impressive Gleirschklamm Gorge. The narrow trail winds its way right along the water — over rocks, bridges, and roots. Crystal-clear water, steep rock walls, and small waterfalls line the path, making it a truly immersive nature experience. Away from the hustle and bustle, after just about 10 minutes, you reach Möslalm, idyllically located with a panoramic view of the mighty Karwendel mountains. The rustic hut is perfect for a relaxed break. The way back leads over forest roads and alpine meadows — a varied and peaceful loop for anyone who loves nature and tranquility.

🔁 Circular hike from Scharnitz: approx. 20 km, 500 m elevation gain, 6–7 hours — good fitness and surefootedness recommended
Turquoise Meets Depths in the Leutasch Spirit Gorge
This short but impressive hike leads through the Leutasch Spirit Gorge — and don’t worry, we didn’t encounter any ghosts! Instead, we found turquoise waters rushing deep below through narrow pools. The suspension bridges are spectacular, crossing the gorge at heights of up to 75 meters, offering breathtaking views into the depths. The mix of water, rock, and dramatic vistas makes this tour a real highlight. On rainy or overcast days, the gorge takes on an especially atmospheric charm.
