The 6 Most Scenic Tours in the Region Seefeld
Today’s all about the real reason we get on our bikes. Not because pedaling is so great. Not because the wind in our face feels so nice. It’s about the views that make it into the photo album – and the dumplings that power us up to those very views. The following 6 tours include the most panoramic rides you can experience by bike in the Region Seefeld – complete with cozy stopovers along the way.
1. No. 1 for Viewpoints per Drop of Sweat
We’ll kick things off with the mother of all views – the Brunschkopf viewing platform, perched 300 meters above Seefeld. On clear days, your eyes can take in five different mountain ranges, including the impressive Hohe Munde. The sun loungers and telescope on the platform aren’t the only rewards for this moderately challenging climb. Along the 281 meters of elevation gain, much of the route winds through quiet, dense forests that promise pure riding enjoyment. For a cool-down or a snack, it’s well worth making a short detour to Lake Möserer See.
- Highlights: Wildmoos, Brunschkopf viewing platform, detour to Lake Möserer See
- Refreshment stop: Möserer Seestub’n
2. Two of a Kind – Inseparable Like Tar & Sulphur
Known as a hiking paradise, the Gaistal Valley in Leutasch is equally a paradise for bikers. In addition to countless huts, there is also a beautiful cycling route. Those who complete the entire trail will find one of the most beautiful views in Tyrol. Fourteen kilometers and 561 meters of elevation are no easy feat, but manageable with a motor. The good news: in the Gaistal, snack stops are both frequent and irresistibly delicious. At the end of the tour, you’ll have to make a choice: tackle the steep final ascent to Lake Seebensee by bike or leave your bike at the Seebenalm for the last few meters. In any case, you’ll be rewarded with a truly impressive panorama. The only thing that can top it is continuing another 250 meters up to Lake Drachensee to admire the entire spectacle from above.
- Highlights: Gaistal Valley, Lake Seebensee, optional extension to Lake Drachensee
- Refreshment stops: Gaistalalm, Tillfussalm, Seebenalm; if extended to Lake Drachensee: Coburger Hütte
3. Of Cats and Sunsets
Same starting point, different direction. This time we head to the other side of the Hohe Munde, chasing the legendary view over the Inn Valley. What begins with a crossing of the turquoise Leutascher Ache leads through mild forests and finally through the picturesque Katzenloch. Sounds wild, but it’s beautiful. With 472 meters of elevation, this tour is also well suited for e-bikes. No matter how you reach your destination – the Ropferstub’m – the view from there is unique. Especially at sunset, when the sun sinks over the Inn Valley and the river begins to sparkle. Always a special moment.
- Highlights: Kneipp facility and water features at Salzbach, Leutascher Ache, Katzenloch, Inn Valley view, natural Kneipp facility at Ropferstub’m
- Refreshment stops: Mundestadl, Ropferstub’m
4. Bees, Mountain Air & Alpine Dreams
This tour starts in Reith and leads you in gentle curves up to the Reitherjoch Alm – around 370 meters of elevation filled with the scent of the forest, wide views, and anticipation. Right at the beginning, the bee nature trail hums alongside you before the path gradually transitions into alpine terrain. Once at the top, the reward awaits: a panorama that makes you forget the effort, and at the hut itself, homemade dumplings and cakes that could become addictive. A real insider tip for anyone who loves to combine pleasure and nature.
- Highlights: Bee nature trail, view of Seefeld from the Rosshütte
- Refreshment stop: Reitherjoch Alm
5. Surrounded by Beauty
Here comes the newcomer of the bunch. Only since summer 2025 has this route been officially open to cyclists! A real blessing, as this bike tour is perfect for a day trip with a dream destination. Easily accessible by train, the route leads steadily upstream through the beautiful Gießenbach Valley. After a short climb through shaded forest sections, you’re already on the home stretch. The Eppzirler Alm and its surrounding alpine meadow look straight out of a picture book and are sure to leave you in awe. Here’s a little task: look up the Eppzirler Alm on Google Maps and see how it’s encircled by mountain peaks and rock faces – even more impressive in real life.
- Highlights: Gießenbach Valley & Eppzirl in the Nature Park Karwendel
- Refreshment stops: Eppzirler Alm, Gasthof Ramona
6. Church Mouse & Catapult
We’ll end the list with an absolute classic. The Hämmermoosalm is the first alpine hut in the Gaistal Valley – and it truly lives up to its prime location. Recently named Alpine Hut of the Year 2025, it’s a favorite among both locals and visitors. At first, you’ll feel as small as a church mouse beneath the mighty rock face of the Hohe Munde, until the delicious dumplings on the sunny terrace catapult you to new heights of delight. Only those who haven’t experienced it themselves would call that an exaggeration. With just 171 meters of elevation, this route is also easily manageable and doesn’t necessarily require an e-bike. It’s worth starting your trip to the Hämmermoosalm a bit earlier, as the sunny spots up there tend to fill up quickly.
- Highlights: Gaistal Valley, Leutascher Ache, Kneipp facility Salzbach
- Refreshment stop: Hämmermoosalm
