SUMMER
Magdalena Church Festival
Rich in tradition, ecclesiastical yet worldly. In honor of Saint Magdalene, the 'Luitascher' hold an annual procession on July 22nd – followed by celebrations that correspond to the occasion. A genuine village tradition, for which the Leutascher dress in their finest traditional costumes.
Magdalena Procession & Church Festival: Lived Tradition in the Seefeld Region
The origins of the church festival lie in the "Weißtag" in honor of Saint Mary Magdalene, the patroness of the "Magdalena Church" which was first built in 1190 and newly built in 1820. The patronage procession always takes place on July 22 from the parish church of Oberleutasch, regardless of the day of the week.

Kirchtag is! Colorful traditional costumes and lived tradition
The church festival is celebrated as a feast after a church service in Oberleutasch - like in many places - also secularly as a local festival. Of course, the 'Luitascher' dress up for the grand festivity: They proudly wear their festive costumes during the patronage and the subsequent procession.
For guests of the region, the Magdalena church festival offers the rare opportunity to experience a traditional church patronage with processions and then immerse themselves in the village community life. Active Leutascher associations organize the afternoon program and provide visitors with sweet and savory treats.

1 Church Day – 2 Music Groups
When the Egerlander formation of the Leutasch music band performs at the festival grounds after the procession, everyone is already gathered. After the procession, the festivities continue at the festival area in front of the Ganghofer Museum, where various music groups perform each year.

Specialties not to be missed
In addition to culinary offerings (from the football club, the farmers' wives, and the stone rose growers), various associations are presenting their specialties: The shooting company is present with a shooting range, and the football club, tennis club, ski club Leutasch, and the volunteer fire department are also involved. For children, there is plenty to offer with a bouncy castle, a climbing tower, and many other games. The young farmers, along with the rural youth, are responsible for operating the schnapps bar. Because celebrations often last until midnight!
The culinary offerings range from parish fair donuts to grilled food and vegetarian stew.
