SUMMER
Ready for an unforgettable summer? Here are our top tips for families.
The summer at the high plateau belongs to families. Adventures for the little ones, relaxation for the grown-ups, and plenty of material for the photo album. Experience an unforgettable time together with these tips.
Multitalent Cat Head
In summer, the Katzenkopf becomes a single large world of experience. From cozy to action-packed, the mountain is a true universal genius when it comes to leisure activities. The biggest highlights:
- Beautiful hiking trails and beginner-friendly trails in the bike park harmonize perfectly here.
- On the summer toboggan run, you can zoom down the mountain with extra fun.
- Additionally, Disc Golf is played at Katzenkopf: you sink a disc into designated baskets. An overview, discs, and scorecards are available at the Katzenkopf hut.
- At the Katzenkopf hut, enjoyment and relaxation are on the agenda, and a spectacular panorama is free of charge.
- Once per stay, you also get a guest card that provides 50 percent discount on a mountain and valley ride (subject to change).
Nature Jewel Ghost Gorge
Rustling turquoise water, a 40-meter-high bridge, and an impressive waterfall: The Geisterklamm is one of the biggest highlights in the region. Especially children are left in awe here. A elaborately designed themed path leads through the gorge on different rounds. Young visitors discover this natural jewel in a playful manner. Fascinating stories, numerous games, and an authentic nature experience await. The start and end point is at the Parkplatz Geisterklamm. For a relaxed arrival, we recommend taking the bus (stop "Geisterklamm"), which is included in the guest card.
Animal Experiences
In Tirol's high plateau, not only dogs are warmly welcomed, you can also get close to many other animals.
- At the farm of the Tyrolean Organic Alpacas in Seefeld, you can observe the cozy animals and take a walk with them after registration.
- At Sigis Sauhaufen, there are mini goats, miniature donkeys, floppy-eared rabbits, and many other adorable farm residents to pet and love.
- Around the Wildsee, there are particularly many squirrels to observe.
- At the Weidachsee in Leutasch, you can go fishing yourself (no fishing license required).
Water Worlds
Water has a special fascination for children, and in the height of summer, the water spots on Tyrol's high plateau provide a wonderful cooling down.
- With the Olympiabad Seefeld and the Erlebniswelt Alpenbad Leutasch, there are two swimming pools in the region where you can have fun on various water slides.
- At Wildsee, the Strandperle outdoor pool and Waldbad Strandcafé Sonja are enticing.
- The Möserer See is hidden in the woods and invites you to jump into the cool water.
- Along the Leutascher Ache, there are many playground and picnic opportunities, e.g., the Wasserspiele Salzbach.
- You can find all tips in our Water Guide.
Really great playgrounds
On Tyrol's high plateau, nature is the greatest and most beautiful playground of all. There are also dedicated playgrounds to romp around.
There's particularly much to experience at the new Seekirchl play park or at the mining adventure playground at the Rosshütte. The playground at Gschwandtkopf has also been newly redesigned. But the best way is to see for yourselves which one you like the most.
Nature experience and spirit of discovery
Exciting children about hiking is not always easy. Adding an experiential factor to the hike makes it easier. Besides the Ghost Gorge, the Reither Bee Learning Path with its bee hotel is unique. Along the Reither Forest Path, 14 stations and information boards provide information about these useful insects. Through a glass window at the bee hotel, the colorful activity in the beehive can be observed safely. And of course, there’s also a stamp station – so make sure to pick up the stamp booklet at one of the information offices beforehand!
