We're starting with the toughest tour on this list, so that the muscle soreness afterwards will only decrease. 447 meters of elevation need to be overcome on the way to the Eppzirler Alm. For me, that's quite a lot; for others, it might be a piece of cake. In either case, it's clear: the atmosphere up here is worth every drop of sweat. The flat Alm ground, surrounded by steep rock walls and mountain peaks – it's simply an extraordinary feeling. You can enjoy a similar experience with significantly fewer altitude meters at the Hämmermoosalm in the Gaistal. It is our first stop in the Almenparadies, which we will revisit in this list. Is the Hämmermoos just one of many huts? Not at all. The Almhütte of the Year 2025 not only shines with awards. Host Christian and Eveline have put together a very special menu that competes with the view from the terrace for the top spot on the highlight list.

Tip: It’s best to take the path to Hämmermoos early or on a weekday, as the spots in the sun up there can be quickly taken.

From the sunny spot, we now head right into the Karwendel. Overall, it is a cozy tour through the Gleirschtal, interrupted only by a short but steep ascent. Those who do not bring trained calves may benefit from an E-bike here. Once you have conquered this section, the Möslalm already awaits you with cows grazing in front of the cabin. This is a genuine alpine farm, which means you can observe the producers of the dairy products live at "work" on your table. It’s truly a cool feeling; it doesn’t get any fresher than this! On your way here, you will cross the Isar, pass lush alpine meadows, and feel the powerful presence of the Karwendel peaks. Take your time and stop a few times along the way. You won’t regret it.

After our adventures in Leutasch and Scharnitz, we now head to the most relaxed tour on this list. You will cover just over 100 meters of elevation on this beautiful round through Reith. Here the postcard potential is almost limitless. Be it the charm of the small alleys or the panoramic view towards the Kalkkögel and Inntal – there is a feast for the eyes here. That is, unless he has already found his way into your stomach at the Gasthof Hirschen. Many of the dishes are also prepared on-site here, which should particularly please fans of sustainability and regional enjoyment.

This relaxed route takes you through the entire Leutasch Valley along the Leutascher Ache to your destination: the Ghost Gorge. This little trip always has a therapeutic effect on me. Whether it's the sound of the water, the barely noticeable incline, or the gentle nature. Here, negative thoughts are blown away by the breeze, making room for culinary treats. Along the way, you'll find the Bridge Inn and the Mill Inn, two absolute favorites among the locals. They are far enough from the main routes to be considered genuine hidden gems. Those who travel and dine here experience the region as it truly is.

Before we come to the finale, let's return once more to the Gaistal. Super popular with cyclists, hikers, cows, marmots, actually with everyone who enjoys mountain air and alpine cuisine. While the animals feed on grass and herbs, we humans can enjoy probably the best cheese dumplings in Tyrol! You can find them at the Tillfussalm, just 174 meters of altitude away from the parking lot and bus stop. But don't be fooled! Once you’ve passed the first bend, you find yourself in a different world. Always accompanied by the Leutascher Ache, the Mieminger chain and the Wetterstein mountains provide a protective escort. Two rock masses that will inspire awe, wonder, or both with their peaks.

Wildmoos. A retreat, an oasis, an absolute gem. Those who haven't been to Wildmoos are missing something in life. Up here, just 150 meters above Seefeld, even the E-bike feels slow. Not because you're not pedaling, but because time has stood still here to revel in the absurdly beautiful natural spectacle. Alright, enough of the praise, let's get to the facts. On your way, you will find two inns, the Wildmoosalm and the Ropferstub’m, that fulfill all your Tyrolean culinary dreams. You will pass a mysterious lake that appears sometimes, and sometimes doesn't – it's a matter of luck. Moreover, you will experience nature that the Creator himself is proud of.
